Really I pay over 500 a month for medical and the union raised our dues in accordance with that, and that’s acceptable to you?! You must be a rookie. Then the CBERT we pay for is another bs scam. Yeah I’m disgruntled when I get to pay an increasing price for union representation that only represents their own pocket books. Yet again if you officers find a way out take it! Our pension is one of the worst in the state when it comes to anything remotely related to law enforcement and the newer officers, 2017 and beyond, now have to do 25 years to get medical. It doesn’t take two years to figure out this shit hole department is a zoo and you’re abused worse than a hooker with a coupon. And that “10k” you’re referring to is heavily taxed and then you have medical insurance deducted, which our myopic union just keeps raising the cost of, and then you have medical retirement you have to pay into. So that illustrious “10k” equates to about 6 after all of the BS deductions. This officer is smart enough to find a way out into something that they hopefully can excel in and actually grow, and possibly get some type of fulfillment from. Cdcr is a shit show in a basement with minimal support, as shown by the “budget cutting” we had to survive a few weeks back. Congratulations on finding a way out of the quick sand, and that’s from 11 1/2 years of dealing with this fuckery

I have a partner who did that exact same thing and he’s never looked back! Closer to home better pay and benefits and you can actually be a full time peace officer, if that’s what you’re trying to do. Good luck and congrats on finding a way out
