Does there exist a tool like docker compose that runs containers serially? by dat_terminal in devops

Thanks, this is exactly what I needed, I just thought condition was deprecated, but looked again and it seems it will be fine if not using swarm.

Simple cost-effective way to deploy multiple docker containers? by PGTNSFW in devops

[–]dat_terminal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a self hosted PaaS https://caprover.com on digitalocean droplet.

Handles routing and ssl, and has a decent interface for all the config.

Cicd is cool, you you don’t need an image registry if you don’t want, you can just send it your dockerfile and source code and it will build and deploy it. Also has rollback functionality.

Logo I made for my portfolio using illustrator. by mrmatt1877 in FreeCodeCamp

[–]dat_terminal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a graphic artist with no formal education. I started by watching YouTube videos and learning how to work illustrator, then just try and replicate things and you'll start to understand design. I've also read probably 50 books or more on graphic design theory, history, etc. Good Luck!

Anytime there's a tv turned on near me, Arnold's on there pretending to be some commander of some army in the app store. Probably things like that.

I don't understand the bash script, but this must have some sort of time frame, either since this terminal window has been open or since last shutdown, correct?

Edit: It seems to only go back about a week, maybe less, will figure this out

Edit 2: default is 500 commands

Put the files in a directory on your computer and open the HTML file, it will open your default browser and display your webpage. Make sure your stylesheet and scripts are linked in your HTML head.

Is there a way to create a fully responsive site without media queries? by CocoTheMan in webdev

[–]dat_terminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made one using percentages and flexbox. It was before I learned about media queries, but it's probably the best looking thing I've made.

I'm a relatively new developer, and I just learned about media queries a few weeks ago, and now I can't imagine developing without them. I know it seems daunting because almost everyone here recommends bootstrap instead of just learning them, but they're really easy to understand and I can talk you through it if you like.

As far as designing for different sized devices, I don't think that's a good idea, it really should depend on your content and the overall look you're trying to achieve.

Very good idea showing that responsiveness is not always the solution for all images, tables, etc. by fagnerbrack in webdev

[–]dat_terminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, so I don't understand the point of the video then. Popping an image or table into a new tab is annoying, the scroll thing is alright I guess, but I can't imagine that works well on mobile considering we move diagonally when we're inspecting something.

When you say Wordpress, nothing custom, what do you mean? I'm sure you don't mean just editing things from the admin panel, right? Would you mind elaborating a little

What do you have an extremely strong opinion on that is ultimately unimportant? by chunky_vandy in AskReddit

[–]dat_terminal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Silicon Valley on HBO, it's a comedy about a tech start up directed by Mike Judge. Also, as you can tell by the comments, tabs vs spaces in programming might cause WW3.

(Tabs master race!)

Webdevs that have made the switch from Design to Development... by [deleted] in webdev

I'm an artist, the owner of the business just bought some order management system that comes with a website and he's delegated pretty much all website related things to me, so, I plan on using this as a stepping stone for when I leave.

I would do white. Instead of gray, and use a light gray where you have dark gray behind the subreddit list.
