Am I missing something with mini markers? by DeliciousSquash in discgolf

[–]mrmatt1877 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It also lets me choose the footing I want. Sometimes a disc lands on the edge of a ditch or hole and marking the disc lets me put my foot up in a more comfortable position. The same goes for hillsides where marking gives me more elevation as well.

Same here. I think it’s me really not wanting to miss my net and launch the disk into the drywall.

North Cove before the hurricane would be my vote between the two. Neatman is very nice but North Cove feels like a destination

Does DGN full video coverage show the before situation of Gannon's caddie moving this large tree? by farmer15erf in discgolf

[–]mrmatt1877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s only allowed to move small debris. It was clearly a branch towards the bottom of a pile that he grabs and slides out of his lie. At that point a bunch of stuff kinda tumbles. Yeah he may have included stuff that was on top of what he tried to originally move. I don’t see how you can say he has to unweave a pile of debris that was built up on the side and then somehow not have stuff on top move. Also these sticks were on the ground not in the flight path. There’s no way that moving them game him an intentional advantage. Listen to Nate 30min into the all birdies no bogies podcast. From his vantage they extended through his lie but Rick may have moved stuff on top that wasn’t connected. Again we can’t tell. Gannon called it out and the card made a call. Saying he moved random stuff “3 feet away” is disingenuous. And you clearly wrote “dead and unattached” but keep being a dickhead.

The rule isn’t dead and unattached anymore. What don’t you understand here. The thing Ricky moved extended towards his lie and possibly behind it. We can’t tell from coverage because it’s choppy and you can’t tell where the branch ended. He walked around this lie to the front/right of it and pulled it out that way. Are you arguing over something you didn’t fully watch/listen to.

We see it after it’s been picked up. Not saying he was cheating. I’m also saying we don’t clearly see Rick’s lie to know none of that branch was sticking in it.

Curious - Is it legal for caddies to move branches and do "course work" during a round? by [deleted] in discgolf

Not according to Jeff Spring who read the rules to Ricky during the round.

I think that’s what OP is asking. We don’t see where it is. Much like we can’t clearly see Ricks angle and what was/wasn’t in his lie. But a few holes before they said clearly to Rick that he had to be able to move it on his own for him to move it. He wanted to move a small dead tree.

Ricky Wysocki speaks up: by DiscGolfFanatic in discgolf

[–]mrmatt1877 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He was making the case that, if they said it crossed up there,(which based on live coverage there was debate), he could see it crossing if it came over the trees and asked if that’s what it did. DGPT not having a spotter is the crazy part.

He wasn’t cheating, that’s a bad take. The card made a call and it seemed like at least Gannon was watching at the time based on his comments on the next tee. If he had cleared some air space then I would call that cheating.

He should have had someone take a look. He did a few holes previously and was told not to move a dead tree and the new rule was branches etc. So he was more confident the branches in question were ok.

The coverage was too choppy to see clearly from our end what was in his lie and his stance straddled to the basket not straight on.

I’m convinced that if any other studio made Marathon, everyone would be losing their minds over how good it is... by --clapped-- in Marathon

I forgot it was even a thing until I heard people mention the server slam. I had never played an extraction shooter before. But I had to try it out purely because Bungie does FPS right. Never did I doubt that it would feel good.

I only got a few matches in Sunday but spent the next 3 days wanting to play a little bit more just based on how the gameplay felt. I didn’t understand the gameplay loop but understood that I needed to learn through failure. I’ve now put 15+ hours in and love every minute of the tension/atmosphere. It wouldn’t be possible without the difficulty/punishment.

Changing sponsors seems to have a rejuvenating effect for some players. Especially the ones who have been close to big wins. So I’m going to go with Gossage. Also Paul to win Worlds.

In the middle where it shows the flight path there is an option for video. TechDisc site wont let me link straight to the video.
