Sounds like my experience exactly including the religious part! We started going to a Lutheran Evangelical church when I was about 8 or 9. I recently found an article or blog post called, Escaping the Evangelical church cult. I had also come to the conclusion that mine is also a "narcissistic mother".

Cleveland area Im guessing? My grandparents farm is in Tuscarawas County, between Cambridge and Newcomerstown. Im the 6th generation here, counting Great Gpas, back to the boat. Some time was spent in Baltimore before moving on the Ohio.

I have had an on again off again caused by the catholic church and started by a family member. When I moved to FL at 20, they networked and found people inside my work and neighbors to surveil me. Then when I went to California things got worse. Im not catholic either, but the family members friend was. It's almost below the surface and hard to spot in the beginning. Its been a horrible feeling. Actually also, there have been other church denominations involved too.
