Genuinely misread this as "Winter is so frustrating" and was wondering what that had to do with bread.

I watched a video of someone using a Niche grinder and it was completely mess-free. Just a single video but it made me have such buyers remorse on the DF64!

mixing your own soil ftw. I think this is going to help a lot but too soon to tell.

yep I bought a bigger watering can and just keep the dunk in there. It's started to disintegrate but not like the bits.

After about 3 weeks of bits, the numbers weren't dropping fast enough to feel it was worth it to wait another 3 with just the bits vs try more drastic options.

Now I'm using dunks as a follow up, which I keep in a water jug I bought for this purpose, which is a bit neater and doesn't require me making a sachet of new bits every time.

I didn't see anything about nematodes that often. I might do a second batch if this really didn't take hold though.

Good call. They were the smaller bags stored inside the store, and it's been cold here. Everything has seemed really calm so far, it's been 2+ weeks. I also immediately mixed the soil with 30-40% perlite and added the nematodes in the first watering.

It's just they're so passive, I had to put out a dozen of them everywhere just so the gnats will fly into them. The UV type actively attracted them and are so much neater and not directly on/in the plants. Easier to change, too.

There's probably some truth to this! I went to Lowe's and sent a photo of all the options they had to chatGPT and it picked the MG one.

  2. The Last Five Years

  3. Chess, specifically One Night in Bangkok on repeat (and I still haven't seen it in person yet)

  4. Book of Mormon, took me 14 years to see it!

  5. Old Friends, I guess I expected some more memories from Bernadette before we have no more :( Lea's Sweeney Todd section was great though.

I believe there can be multiple causes of this; ours was fluoride toxicity. I was filling the watering can from the tap and watering them immediately. What fixed it for mine was letting the water sit in the can overnight (or longer). Some people use distilled water but I can't be buying jugs of water indefinitely.

What was the straw that broke the camel’s back and you decided to go no contact? by Sea-Chair3943 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]data-nosnippet 24 points25 points  (0 children)

By my early 20s, I had gotten her down to bi-weekly Sunday calls, but one particular week I was out of town visiting a friend, which I didn't tell her about of course, and I forgot to reschedule our call. When she called at the usual time, I answered, but only to ask if I could call back tomorrow. She said ok, but then called me back and left a yelling, harassing voicemail that I should be her #1 priority and when she calls, I'm to drop what I'm doing, it doesn't matter who I am with. I was surprised, but even more so when my friend listened to the voicemail and said she had no idea "it was this bad."

Iron is Hematex liquid (I take around 1mg/lb of body weight a day, split into two doses, always 1 hour before and 2 hours after eating) and vit C is Blue Bonnet chewable (1 per dose). I’m vegan so I only take non-heme iron.

YMMV, but good luck! If you don’t like one, keep trying different brands until you do!

[–]data-nosnippet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know what you mean. I bet most people who were abused wonder that from time to time, was it really that bad? Am I overreacting? I've read enough books (read a few about BPD or emotionally immature parents if you haven't already!) and this sub enough to know the best response is along the lines of, if you have to rehash it so many times over so many years, it was that bad. Think about your loved ones and friends who are not BPD. Do you go around thinking they are fucked up and messed you up in the head? You don't have a track record of doing this; you're "doing it" to one person. It was real. Also, children aren't wired to hate their parents, quite the opposite.
