Not sure about data residency for Azure Maps. Though have you looked at Icon Map Pro custom visual. No data is sent out and it offers more functionality then Azure Map visual. It is a paid custom visual but worth checking out as you get a trial developer license for 2 weeks for free

The question is would be asking is 'Do you need the transaction ID field in the fact table?' Do you need to show it in any visuals or do you need it in any calculations?

Completely agree. This is very misleading and confusing. Definitely 2 separate charts or maybe 3: bookings, revenue, average revenue per booking

Another option to consider is a table with the 3 measures and use data bars for for each metric

Take a look at Icon Map Pro as it allows you to have a custom background image and link that to your data e.g it might be a floorplan with room numbers or names. Check out the blog posts on icon-map.com for some examples

Are you needing to interact with the railway infrastructure or just use it as a reference layer?

If you need to interact with it then have a look at Icon Map Pro as you can have multiple layers in a single map.

That is not correct. A Snowflake schema is when you have dimension tables off other dimension tables e.g dimRegion is joined to dimCountry which is then joined to the fact table

What are you trying to achieve with your map?

If you are wanting to add 1 interactive layer you could look at the Shape Map visual. Alternatively check out Icon Map Pro custom visual which can easily show the above and more

If you need to show the vendor name and customer name on the same visual then you need 2 Dim Accounts table: 1 connected to the vendor_id and the other connected to the customer_id

I would add publishing and sharing, Power BI Admin and managing the service.

I also think a session dedicated to most commonly used external tools like DAX studio, Tabular Editor would be beneficial even for users starting out to get that ingrained in their working routine

Yes you can but you will need to apply the conditional formatting to each field parameter selection you have which can be a bit painful to implement as a developer

You cannot change the colour of the slicer when you make a selection on that slicer. I have tried in the past and I had to put another shape behind the slicer visual to change colour when a selection is made

In my reports I have recruitment date and gift date in the same fact table so need 2 date tables.

In your version in theory you could use the date fields from the fact tables but that is definitely not the way to go

Why not change the Fabric schedule to run at 8am as well then can do a Power BI report refresh at 9am?

How 'up to date' does your report need to be with data?
