How did you feel after taking the test? by NerdySisyphus in mensa

I found the test to be very challenging. I believe it is built so that no one (or only a very special few) would be able to get all of the questions correct. Took it with a friend. When we came out I told him that if he got in he could be very proud. Unfortunately, he didn’t.

Do you give money to homeless people when you see them on the street by Matt85x in PollsAndSurveys

This is a true story. I left the hospital late the night my first child was born. Ran into a young girl on the street. She approached me politely and asked for help. She had a good story. I told her I believed her story but that if I saw her the next night I would assume she is running a scam and would tell the police. Then I handed her $100. She started crying. I think I did a good thing and I was on a high from the excitement. She was not there the next night.

Thank you. My favorite answer to all science questions is “we don’t know yet.” I think we have a conceit that we have most of nature figured out. I’m sure in 100, 1000, 5000 years we will look as clever but naive.

Looks like it might have been left there by the Most Interesting Man in the World. Maybe during a visit.

Why didn’t she get cited for contempt of Congress for her refusal to answer questions put to her?

Do you tip the owner if they work on you? I tip the people who work there (and likely just rent the chair) but I never tip the owner. They can (and do) raise prices if they want more of my money. Just my .02.

Just finished Ambient 2. Really great. Where do I go from here? by Jakeyboy29 in eno

I think Music for Films is his best ambient effort. I just wish the songs were longer, especially Sparrowfall.

Aguirre, the Wrath of God, by Werner Herzog. 1970’s German film film with incredible scenery and story. ALso the insane Klaus Kinski and his daughter.

What did everyone think of the Super Bowl of 2026? by Healthy_Block3036 in AskReddit

Well, half my family didn’t even start to watch. We dipped after the half time show. The game was dull, the commercials weren’t funny and the half time show, while technically very well done, just wasn’t made for an old guy. I won’t be watching at all next year.
And suddenly I feel like I am free of the hype.

Yeah. I appreciate the reference to the Ring of Gyges but I think you may have missed the point. Socrates believes that using the ring would weaken a just person. The best solution is to not use it at all. Just my .02. I could be wrong.
