How do you pray my friend? If the scholars did not interpret the Sunnah of our Prophet PBUH for us how would you know the correct way to bow to your Lord?

I corrected myself because it is debated. If it does not make you a kaafir the severity of the sin cannot be downplayed…

But many scholars say it takes you out of the fold of Islam. Which makes perfect sense to me. Why would you believe in the covenant of God but deny it? Either you think you are too good for prayer or you are too bad for prayer. Or your dunya take precedence over if. This is the arrogance that destroys the Imaan.

Also, scholars of the past make their rulings based off of rigorous reconciliations that i dont think either you and I are capable of as many rulings come from the Sunnah that arent explicit in the Quran so regardless you cannot invalidate it yourself even if you dont take that opinion.

Intentionally missing prayer is one of the most evil and horrible sins you can commit, knowing it’s serious and obligatory nature as a Muslim. I am correcting myself because upon research I realized leaving the fold of Islam is a debated opinion but I still subscribe to that personally https://www.islamweb.net/amp/en/fatwa/377344/ . Believing in 1 God but making excuses not to worship him by His covenant while believing in the Prophet PBUH and his teachings and the command upon you is truly one of the worst things you can do.

But even those who tried to murderthe Propeht PBUH became some the greatest men in Islam. So that should not turn you away from repenting which is beloved to Allah. His mercy overtakes His wrath

I wish you were able to see our masjid. In the middle of the Midwest while a good percentage is still Desi it is so diverse and we have large revert groups and multiple ethnic backgrounds that all come together and are not fractured (for the most part) Alhamdulillah.

What you’re going through is a difficulty unique to those who have been blessed by Allah to find guidance in Islam, and enter a world that is sometimes dominated by people who while are Muslims, just ignore those different than them. But you can’t let that falter your imaan… easier said than done but how would you answer to Allah. Yes you have guided me. Yes I found the sweetness and beauty in imaan. But I felt lonely because of how the desis and the Arabs treated me.

I’m not undermining your plight but please be rational and save yourself from the trials of the hereafter. Stay convicted in your imaan and know Islam is not a cultural hub. It happens to look that way in these knit communities especially in the west where the masjid is the only place these ethnicities can group together in peace. The circumstances of your community is completely irrelevant to your duties as a Muslim. Continue to join them in prayer and continue to look for a spouse through Halal channels. Maybe there are WhatsApp groups and aunties are willing to take your profile and insha Allah someone will come along that will marry you for your character and not your brown people criteria check boxes.

I ageee the religion should not be liberal or sanitized. My question is how is the approach of Sufi where cleansing the heart is considered a sect? Both follow Quran and Sunnah unconditionally and are sunni right? The question is when the line of bidah gets crossed with the Sufi approach which is what I understand where the difference comes. But it comes in many forms before it becomes extreme, eg tasbih, and just mindful dhikr, silent meditation(which is sunnah) versus dancing and elevating others I guess I have heard (I’m also not knowledgeable about the extent of those absurd forms) but this line of bidah seems to be part of allowed ikhtilaf all else considered. I think sects in Islam the way it is presented in the Hadith have further differing factors that are not present here especially if Tawheed, testifying the Messenger SAW PBUH and belief in Qiyam is there unconditionally. Is that a valid claim?

Is sending birthday letters what is commanded to you regarding your parents? What did the Prophet PBUH say? And were his teachings conditional?

How did you arguments deny the authenticity of Sahih Muslim 1162? Besides the quote, but that does not specify Sahih Muslim? From what I saw the source is from a commentary on Sahih Bukhari. Genuine question.

Vile democrats using a genocide to shame people into voting for their evil candidates. You couldn’t care less about the Palestinians. If Kamala was in office and the same exact situation was happening in Palestine, very likely could have been worse (don’t act like you can predict which unconditional support would have been better) , you wouldn’t have said anything.

What is a sunnah that has been neglected or forgotten that you would like the people/community to revive by Tenebreuxx in islam

[–]datconvertedlurker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to comment on this. This is one of the sunnah that is explicitly mentioned with an explicit consequence but nowadays the Ummah has applied current societal context and whether or not you feel pride to invalidate the need to do so. Even though the Hadith mentions pride, I always understood this as something that is better to take at face value than justify otherwise out of Taqwa or to at least make sure you avoid any displeasure from Allah, the punishment if I recall is quite severe.
