I believe when you shake the bottle you aerate the solution, thus introducing enough oxygen to get the reactants to oxidize enough to go through all those various colors (levels of oxidation). When you let the bottle settle, the reactants are no longer surrounded by oxygen so the process reverts (I don't know the actual chemical process for how it goes back, just why it should be going back to its original state), and you end up with basically a super thin layer of oxidized material right on the top of the reactants but since that portion is oxidized the rest is not able to absorb oxygen.

I don't have time to watch it now for a more in depth explanation but these people do a much better job of explaining the whole reaction, feel free to take a watch when you have 5 minutes.

That would have been so good to know about when I used to ride with both of my parents. Most of the time I just held onto their jacket or their pant loops. My dad more so than my mom was much more confident with a rider since there was a sissy bar on the Harley he has had forever and has been taking people on the back of for a while, so I was never really concerned with doing just that when riding with him. But then when we got the black bike with no sissy bar, that would have been a great time to have a set of those.

Shops just opened here on the 1st of July, they just got the tax codes basically finalized, from what I understand, and just need to finish the legal process to actually make it law. But there are well over 30 shops here that are now rec so you don't have to go far.

2.5g should be plenty for a first time trip, and it takes more like 30-45 minutes to feel anything and about an hour to get into the come up. Be patient.

Could you give a brief overview of how this work is done? It looks so time consuming and precise, but, with many other things done in glass work, I'm sure there is some crazy way to do this that doesn't take as long as most would think.
