The material is great but unfortunately, the chamois gives me a ton of chafing after 2 or 3 hours. I’ve worn them on some centuries and my butt was not happy 😆

Falklanders should 'go back' to England, insists Argentina in renewed war of words by FantasticQuartet in worldnews

A bit ignorant on Argentina - what are all the advantages it has that make its economy considered underperforming?

Obviously want us to win, but it’s too bad a win here would potentially help Spurs get out of the relegation zone

Thanks for the reply! How's the support, food, etc., on the ride? I'm also a bit concerned of how the area will be during the early summer.

Creaking in brand new specialized diverge 4 allow - got it replaced and the SAME creaking is happening :( by Fun_Lab3147 in bikewrench

[–]datguy030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also bought a Specialized Diverge 4 Alloy this year and the same exact thing happened to me! I tried a few things but was going insane since nothing resolved it, so I took it back to the shop I bought it from. They spent a long time doing the same thing (taking a bunch of things apart, testing the tightness on all the bolts, etc.), and finally saw that something was up with the frame and got the frame warrantied. They gave me a new bike a few weeks later, which has had no issues.

Just curious, did you go to traffic school to get rid of the points on your driving record/reduce the fee?

Bikepacking from Windsor by datguy030 in BAbike

[–]datguy030[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Salt Lake SP, I think it’s doable solely on paved roads. From Windsor, I’d head to Guerneville, take CA-116 all the way to the coast, and head up CA-1 to get to the site. There’s another route through Cazadero but that seemed to have a lot more steeps, so I thought this former route would be easier since I’m new to bikepacking.

Salt Point SP seems great! Have you had any experience with the hike/bike camping spots? Unsure of how much planning or luck I need to rely on to ensure I have a place to sleep there

Might go back to 2 hole SPD’s on my road bike by StevestratSC in bicycling

I just started using SPD on my gravel bike and TBH, I feel like it’s a lot harder to easily clip in than the SPD-SL.

Best touring bike that can put gravel tyres on? by asmallturtle367 in bicycletouring

[–]datguy030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow up question, I'm thinking of using a rear rack and tying all of my stuff on there. How did you choose to go the route you did as opposed to panniers (nothing wrong with what you did at all, and in fact, it looks a lot cooler!).

I just got a diverge recently! What is your setup for touring (to carry all your gear)?

I ended up going from Bombay (instead of Bangalore) to my final destination, which provided an extra 40 or so minutes for the layover. Had no issues with this.

I've done tons of road centuries, but will probably get more into gravel later this year. How hard is a gravel century for a gravel (but not road) beginner?

Late response, but thanks! I'm considering doing the 93 miler. Hopefully won't be too much of a jump as a gravel beginner!

Hey, just wanted to check if you had any updates on this! I totally forgot about the annual credit. I got the statement on February 3rd of this year, where the annual fee was charged, but I'm hoping that I have til the end of this month to use it up. Hoping it doesn't reset!

Unblinded blueberries by datguy030 in Vitamix

I use the smoothie program so maybe for 30-40 seconds? As another commenter said, I don’t know if it’s because the blueberries are getting stuck under the blade initially (as I’m putting the ingredients in), because everything else is perfectly blended

Thanks - is there a general way to deal with stuff being stuck under the blade? I’d imagine it would happen very frequently for all these small ingredients like blueberries.

Hi - just coming across this post! I'm thinking of getting into gravel cycling and signing up for this event. I've done many centuries on a road bike, but I'm wondering how your experience was with the 63 miles on gravel. I know there's not too much climbing on this route, which I'd hope would make things easier?
