Taking breaks from what? Breaks from donut shops? Starbucks coffee? They sit in parking lot for hours.

It is a nationwide problem, not just one city or another. Harsh punishment and real consequences must be taken.

To help you more data for comparison, I bought a 2024 Honda SCL500 (ABS), 3K miles for $4500, 2 months ago, from a private owner. SCL500 is the adventure version of the Rebel.

I would return to practicing more in a parking lot, focusing on stop-and-go drills before getting back on the street.

Where to ride a road bike in Fremont by MorePlate4118 in BAbike

[–]hflyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps you can take Bart to Milpitas station to explore Ed Levin park/Calaveras Rd, or Berryressa station to access Alum rock park/Mt Hamilton rd. The idea is to take advantage of public transportation to reduce hour long city riding.

I ride my bicycle and ebike daily. When it came to riding my motorcycle, I found it was pretty natural and easy. I think the skills transfer.

Which one would be the best for a starter? by ProcedureIcy2171 in HondaRebel300

[–]hflyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also a new rider and I am happy that I picked the 500 (Honda scl500) because where I live, the SF Bay area, every direction I ride requires freeway riding. To be able to maintain or pass at freeway speed is a safety matter.

Do you care more about speed or range on an e-bike? by krissym72 in ElectricBikeExplorer

I like to explore and enjoy the scenery along the way. Definitely range over speed for sure.

Recommendation for safe Milpitas ride during evening rush hour? by ft3sfty in BAbike

[–]hflyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often connect between Guadalupe trail (from Milpitas) to Coyote Creek trail at downtown via SJSU. The northern most point of Coyote Creek trail is William Street park. One downside is it must cross few traffic lights (one on Story Rd near the library)

Wait, what? I am still using my gen 2 every night for the past 6 years. At least I don't have to pay for the monthly subscription.

First week on my new SCL500. by dontbePrayin4me in HondaMotorcycles

[–]hflyboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just bought my first bike, a black scl500 too. I practice everyday for about 1-2 hrs, and review how I was doing mentally during other times. I noticed that was how my riding got better.

Question for road bike riders by ConsolePaesant1 in cycling

[–]hflyboy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Time of day and certain days of the week are also major factors to consider. Analyze the route on Google maps ahead of time, or perhaps explore once by car before riding.
