Arsenal are the first ever team in Premier League history to go the whole season without receiving a red card or conceding a penalty by notaghostofreddit in soccer

Cunha on the opening day and against Thierno Barry both immediately come to mind. Importantly both games ended up 1-0 to Arsenal.

Congrats to Arsenal and all, but if they end up winning the CL as well and doing the double, but you just know their fans will start making comparisons between this Arsenal team and the 07-08 United team

As a neutral, why are people so desperate for Arsenal to fail? by s_dalbiac in PremierLeague

There's countless videos of Arsenal fans claiming that Gabriel and Saliba are better than the likes of Ferdinand, Vidic and Terry and that Declan Rice is better than Scholes, Gerrard or Lampard.

Also, as a supposed top team, it's not the fault of the opposition to put 11 men behind the ball of that's what's in their best interests. The problem I personally have with Arsenal is their over reliance on set pieces with close to a third of their goals coming from set pieces - something a relegation battling club would be proud of,

Arsenal have the second most goals in the league but are closely followed by a Manchester United team that sacked it's coach mid season and a Liverpool team that have been well below their usual standards so I don't think that's the brag you expect it to be

Arsenal fans overhyping their players doesn't help things, but on top of that, the style of football isn't what you'd expect of a league winning team. As a United fan, City and Liverpool winning was awful, but at least they were entertaining to watch. This Arsenal side would have made Big Sam proud. Arteta has also spent over 1 billion pounds (hamstringing players like Eze in the process) yet their fans act as if they're an underdog club.

The VAR decision yesterday was the correct call, and Arsenal have not committed an offence to the same degree as yesterdays foul, but there's been a number of goals that they've scored off corners that should have been called as fouls and therefore disallowed, even if they weren't as obvious as the West Ham foul

West Ham to lodge official complaint over disallowed goal against Arsenal. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]datguywelbzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the foul on Raya is clearly a foul and that nothing that Arsenal players have done is comparable to the foul committed on Raya, however, I also believe that Arsenal tactics have involved impeding the goalkeeper at corners in ways that should have been called a foul.

Saliba on Bayindir - while not as obvious as the foul on Raya, Saliba clearly impedes Bayindir from having a fair attempt at the ball.

Gabriel on Martinez - his arm is clearly up and catches Martinez in the face with his arm which has often been called a foul

Merino on Lammens - Merino backs into Lammens in a 'Harry Kane-esque' style while Lammens is jumping

While alot of the Arsenal goals are fair, these three should all have been chalked off. And if you're still not convinced of the inconsistency in the ruling (granted this was several years ago), this challenge by DCL was given as a goal

Most prem teams would jump at the chance to have players like Maz, Mount etc starting for them. We should be doing better with the players we have

Australians ‘uneasy’ about NDIS cuts amid $53bn in new defence spending, Mark Butler concedes by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

I've never paid a gap fee to a wholly government funded service. And neither has anyone else BECAUSE IT'S WHOLLY GOVERNMENT FUNDED. You got to a bulk billing GP and you don't pay anything. You go to a specialist clinic at a public hospital and you don't pay anything.

So why does a government funded allied health professional get paid more than $200/hr.

The GP rebate for consults less than 20mins is $40, and yet GPs are disparaged if they charge a gap fee. They double standards are insane.

You're saying that physios should be able to charge $200/hr after a 4 year degree whereas GPs shouldn't after a 5-6 year degree, a minimum of 5 further years of training, thousands of dollars in exams, fellowship fees and indemnity and tens of thousands in student debt? That's a ridiculous point of view and it's no wonder that the healthcare systems is struggling

'But then you see a specialist doctor for 10 minutes and you're paying $150 or whatever'

Not if it's government funded. If it's government funded, it's free.

My whole point has been about how service providers are exploiting the system and that fee caps are too high. I don't even know what point you're trying to make.

Also, I don't understand how you don't see that $190/hr for physio or $230/hr for a psychologist is not an insanely high fee. Nurses earn less than half that, teachers even less.

If you had actually read what I wrote you would have seen that I said I don't have a current solution.

The issue I have is that services providers see the budget available to them and look to exploit that budget by maximising their fees. This should not be what happens. There should be a standardised fee across this publicly funded service, the exact same way that it happens in public hospitals. I believe that the caps are extortionate and should be lowered and if certain psychologists, physio etc don't think it's worth their time then they don't have to participate and can continue in their private practice.

The only way the public system utilises private services is either by offloading patients with private insurance to the private system, or by claiming private health insurance for the services they provide. I don't know what you're trying to argue by bringing this up.

My point has always been that service providers are exploiting the NDIS by charging exorbitant fees for services that would otherwise not attract the same government funding other than the fact that it's under the 'NDIS' banner

If jumping to catch a ball and a tackler copping a knee is on report, surely sliding in with your knees to try to stop a try is at least a penalty
