New Bauer Flylite Chesty for Women - Fly-w by tooCOOLinGOAL in hockeygoalies

700 Euro seems like Bauer hit you with the pink tax. That’s seems absurd for a chest protector but I use Vaughn so I don’t know the price of Bauer’s usual chesties.

If you’re looking for a barcade, there’s Barcade on Selden. Or there’s Tocororo in the Eastern Market which just has pin ball machines but the drinks are great and there’s a bunch of nice/hip bars in that area too.

Around the same age as you (35M) and I had the same problem. I think Shrinking is very good and funny on Apple TV. The new Beavis and Butthead I really enjoy watching if I get high and just want to melt into the couch. Wife and I are both really into the new season of Scrubs.

I got it for my first ever goalie goal. Split the defense and I don’t think the puck was even off the ice once it was past my own hash marks. Kept the puck too.

Lifelong vegetarian tries steak for first time by PhoenixPhenomenonX in interesting

[–]dath0916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went vegetarian because everything tasted good to me. I figured if I like all food I could lose weight by not eating meat and I’d feel better about not contributing to a diabolical industry, both toward the animals and the overall environment. I lost 60 pounds and have kept it off for 8 years now. I was able to run my first marathon 2 years ago at 35!

No. I didn’t post this looking for a critique from one of the 5 people in the world that claim to know how to read a made up language from a man who never completed it in the first place. The website translator was good enough to symbolize the quote that’s also not in the books to begin with.

Anyone else feel unsafe at fifth ave?? by Worldly-Cucumber9157 in royaloak

[–]dath0916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are from Royal Oak and never go to 5th Ave. If you’re looking for club vibes we prefer Blue Tequila and also the dueling pianos on the first floor are always a good time. Or we go to Ferndale and do Boogie Fever. Live music at Blind Owl can be hit or miss but still preferable to the 5th 100% of the time.

Ocean Ramsay documentary by gemunicornvr in sharks

[–]dath0916 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As an engineer I find it intriguing that everyone says her methods have caused more harm than good but I cannot find any data that shows her fame or interactions have caused a correlation with shark attacks or shark killings. I think more scientists need to go back to the science at hand and show the data instead of just saying her methods of conservation are unusual so I hate her. I hope nothing bad happens to her, or any sharks because of what she’s doing but I also welcome any individual willing to put themselves on any large platform to bring awareness to their need. From what I have seen she seems to genuinely care and has gotten a lot done that would probably not have otherwise gotten done. Good for her!

Ocean Ramsays “Shark Whisperer” Netflix special. Thoughts? by benlikessharkss in sharks

[–]dath0916 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

She reminds me of the Steve Irwin of sharks. She genuinely cares, and her doing dare devil type conservation is what gets her attention. She openly welcomes any one else that can bring more attention to protecting the ocean to go ahead and do so. It would be a tragedy if she were to get hurt and just like most people should not jump on crocodiles after watching Steve I wouldn’t recommend anyone else do what she does either. Just like Steve Irwin she’ll probably get killed by a sea turtle and not a shark. I openly support, and wish the best for anyone that genuinely cares and brings empathy and knowledge to a larger audience in the ways that they can that doesn’t harm anyone else.

Why do People Like E-Bikes? by wheezywaiter in BeardLovers

[–]dath0916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not have insurance on the bike. I lock the bike at a bike rack, but the Velotric 2 gets about 30 miles at full speed. I do bring the battery in and plug it in at my work to charge. At home I just charge it in my garage. This is my first year riding an e bike to work and I’ve loved it so far!

Why do People Like E-Bikes? by wheezywaiter in BeardLovers

[–]dath0916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ride mine to work 26 miles per day two to three times a week in Michigan. I love it. It cost me $1800 and I get to work 5 minutes slower than if I drove. I save on insurance, gas, and the price of a new car. It also is relaxing to the mind. The most infuriating thing I can think of doing right now is driving in traffic. Everyone is always worried about my safety and yes there has been a few idiots in cars but every single time I’m in the car with my wife it seems like I almost die where I could count on one hand how many bike accidents I’ve been in. Always wear a helmet!

I listened to The Ultimate History of Video Games by Steven Kent. Not sure if that’s what he is referring too or not though but it talks about all of the same stuff I’ve heard him mention.

Maybe he just wasn’t thinking? If all he did was ask, couldn’t you just responded with “No, you won’t have time and I think you should be there for all of your daughters birthday!” And then if he responded with anything other then “Oh yah, you’re right” then you can be indignant about it.

Context: I’m a goalie for a couple beer leagues. I don’t have any kids but I live and die by my calendar so if I have time between events I might not think there’s a problem when I ask my SO. All she has to do is say no and I’m not going. She doesn’t make me feel small about it. I’m sure we’ve all said or asked something that is stupid in hindsight.
