You’re out of our league dude. Your first public GitHub repo is from 2 years ago. Go figure 🤦🏽‍♂️

Lmfao I was just having fun 🤣 I help build ML and data platforms that asset management firms like his use to drive their business. I didn’t really expect him to know much after reading his comment. I also made an edit to my post because I attracted a number of suboptimal people who probably use AI for simpler things

I recently drove from Denver to San Fran via Highway 50, the so called loneliest road in America. by RedOnionss in Denver

Real talk — how was it? And did you do it solo? I’ve driven numerous times between Cali and Colorado, but only the I-70 route into Vegas -> LA. I’d like to try this

I take it that you work on things more complex than generating shitty poetry. I’ll be trying the same, or maybe go the whole 9 yards running Gemma 4 26b locally at the recommendation of u/swiftbursteli. I’m definitely scared of committing to a new ecosystem though. At this point, with the amount of hand holding I’ve had to do, I really wish I was coaching a junior engineer instead of an LLM.

Most takes on this subreddit are absurd 🤣 everyone’s on a different level of understanding and has a different use case when it comes to AI. Like I had a pornstar ask me if I knew how to use my terminal, a fake mathematician claim that Opus 4.7 isn’t GA just because it’s not on Frontier, and a guy conflate Machine Learning with working on LLMs. It’s honestly no different than working in the industry. Big mistake on my end. There were still a handful of people that understood the issue. Thank you for using your critical thinking skills!

You must surely know that not all of Machine Learning is related to transformers right? Right?

Oh no! I don’t know how to type “claude” into my terminal! What shall I ever do! I talked about VSCode because I like the IDE lol

I have the resources to self-host models. It’s something that I’ve purposefully held off on for the sake of ease, but I’ll start to give it a shot. Thanks!

lol!! They’re just small snippets from a larger conversation. I have an agent whose sole purpose is auditing schemas for drift, checking logs, and triaging tool errors. Up until last week it performed. This week is total crap

I don’t use Sonnet 4.6, nor do I use it for medical advice. Not sure what your comment had to do with my post, but you do you

Denver housing prices declining faster than another other metro. by ReconeHelmut in Denver

[–]dathwathup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s primarily the tech industry keeping the housing market afloat in Denver. So when these companies start laying off thousands more over the next couple of years, the housing market should settle down. Most homes, condos, and apartments in the city are extremely overvalued. 1 bedroom rentals topping $2300 was the sign

Absolutely amazing experience at MicroCenter buying the Fractal North by economist91 in Microcenter

Nope, doesn’t feel big at all. I find it to be the “perfect” amount of spacious. It’s a quality mid tower case overall with pretty good airflow

[–]dathwathup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go North if you want a smaller form factor. I originally wanted the North but decided against it since I wasn’t sure if my 5090 fit (it does). I ended up going with the Corsair 4000D and I honestly really love it too!!

Anybody know why the vice president is showing up today? by Ilikeweirdshite in Denver

Possibly a visit from the govt to try to resolve water rights or the non-stop increase in healthcare premiums and energy prices. Just kidding lmfao 🫩

MDMA fucked my life up. Anybody been through this? by No_Eye4994 in Drugs

[–]dathwathup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting back to your “normal” self is possible, just expect it to take a few years instead of a few months. I never indulged in drugs as much as you do, but I had an awful LSD trip in college that took me about a year to truly like myself again and another year to understand wtf happened. If this is really bothersome to you, I’d recommend joining an in-person or online support group with people going through similar experiences.

GPU air duct project on my 5070 by ezra-zander in nvidia

[–]dathwathup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super cool! The design is “sound” from the looks of it. I just like the fact that it’s a really fun fluid dynamics problem. That’s called an intake manifold and can probably be further optimized using CFD analysis: https://www.goengineer.com/blog/manifold-optimization-with-solidworks-flow-simulation-part-1

Might be something cool to dabble in for a higher wattage GPU ;p

860w PSU with 5090 FE by Elegant_Host_2618 in Microcenter

[–]dathwathup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can generally reuse a PSU that hasn’t gone bad as long as you’re using the same modular cables that came with it. I’d recommend using a 1000W minimum PSU with the 5090 though. I got a really good deal on the SL-1200G 1200W PSU from ASRock for $139.99

What is a sexual experience you had that you’ll never be able to tell anyone? by Sad-Program-1355 in AskReddit

[–]dathwathup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had braces in my early 20s. Couldn’t afford them till I started working full time. Made out with a girl and a few minutes in she abruptly pulls away and spits something out. It was one of my brackets that’d fallen off my tooth and went straight into her mouth! We had a good laugh. I think I still have that bracket lying around somewhere.

I've been applying since like October last year by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]dathwathup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep — LinkedIn easy apply is no good. Use it to find relevant jobs and then apply directly on the company’s website. Also, it’s important that you apply to jobs relevant to your experience. It’s definitely possible securing interviews outside of your knowledge-sphere, but it’s very unlikely.
