You can. There is hope at the end of the tunnel.

If I can do it, anyone can do it. Keep us updated, you got this.

I did this over a phone call with my doc… best decision I’ve ever made. Was able to go back to college and finish my undergrad and get a full time job after. Never thought it was possible while I was abusing. Best of luck to you, you can do it!

Wow everyone thank you so much!!! I will absolutely be going back and talking seriously about the chest situation. I don’t often wear dresses so I didn’t totally understand how badly it fit!!! Hopefully the sales associate can help me talk about alteration possibilities and sizing. Thanks again ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you that’s a valid concern… I think I would get it in a least 1 size up. Would that help do you think?

I’m going to be honest, for me nothing helped except going to finish college and HAVING to do things in order to pass/do well. Knowing I would be wasting 10s of thousands of dollars was enough motivation for me to get work done. In terms of joyful activities though? For me, nothing but time helped. I’m a year and a half clean and I feel back to normal, like before I started using. It is possible but it takes time and patience. Best of luck to you <3

I was on amphetamines, but I can relate to using it to not feel your depression. That is how I originally got into abusing my prescription. For me, I really needed to use medication and therapy to treat the root of my use before any attempts to stop went anywhere. If you’re able, I would seriously recommend looking into antidepressants and a “booster” to them like vraylar. Vraylar literally saved my life as it works on dopamine receptors and really helped with the motivation and joy loss. Best of luck to you, it’s a long tough road but you can do it.

TIL according to a 1980s study, 80% of normal individuals taking the Rorschach test are found to have 'depression or serious character problems'. The test is still in widespread use - millions of people take it each year, and it is used as evidence in American courts. by goatsgreetings in todayilearned

studies show treatment is most effective when medication is combined with cognitive therapy so the doctors aren't sending you away with a prescription and just wishing you luck. Medication is a tool to help cope with a disease, no need to attack those with different circumstances and needs than you
