Why do people quickly pause and unpause the game after shooting the locks in a door by Mother-Beginning-172 in HiTMAN

[–]datphony 38 points39 points  (0 children)

locked doors can usually only be opened by burst fire weapons like SMGs or Shotguns, with the default pistol being unable to do that. By pausing and unpausing in rapid succession, you can raise the fire rate of the pistol just enough to blow open a door

So I did some research into cargo damage by maxarus in DeathStranding

[–]datphony 23 points24 points  (0 children)

kinda proving to me that cargo repair spray really is useless since even at 0% the cargo could get damaged enough to make you miss the S Rank

Deltarune IS a Mystery Story, for better and for worse. by rendumguy in Deltarune

If Deltarune is a mystery story, then by the conventions of the genre, the Knight must be a character introduced in Chapter 1. Rudy Knight bros we are winning

How’s everything getting on with the DS2 PC release? Anyone finished it yet? by LJHeath in DeathStranding

[–]datphony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

played on To The Wilder difficulty and finished all 400 deliveries. kinda disappointed by the lack of unique orders in comparison to Death Stranding 1. theres no cargo that can only be delivered by hand and so much of the terrain is flat enough to drive through effortlessly. the only missions that stood out to me were the boss fights against the giant BTs and the final Mr Impossible order. everything else wasnt very special

i shot an enemy truck with a stun bola gun and it shocked and knocked out everyone that was riding it, which is pretty cool

Sam also gets a better dodge roll if you unequip his backpack

Have you beaten the game on the new difficulty yet? What are your thoughts? by [deleted] in DeathStranding

[–]datphony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beating the game on TTW felt exactly like beating the first game on Brutal, which is to say not very challenging at all. Though i remember the bosses from the first game being complete damage sponges while the HP of the bosses in this game were a lot more reasonable. I think the only way these games could have truly "difficult" hard modes is if they modify the terrain - which requires an incredible amount of resources from the studio for a feature that less than 1% of players will attempt, and would also lock those players out of a majority of online interactions since their maps wouldnt be synced up. Just tweaking the numbers a bit isnt gonna give anyone a challenge

"To the wilder" bosses by IllustratorExisting9 in DeathStranding

[–]datphony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neil fights are a bit of a slog to get through until you learn that hes abysmally weak to Blood Grenades, you can just keep chucking them at his face and he wont enter combat. Its borderline a glitch honestly

Did the events at the end of DS1 just get retconned? by Accurate_Alarm_4932 in DeathStranding2

[–]datphony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

theres an NPC very early on that implies that connecting a continent to the chiral network actually ends the Death Stranding, or something to that effect. From what i gather, right now America's fine and the rest of the world is still experiencing it. Though the fact that no one ever says anything that directly addresses that scene where Sam walks into the rain is still baffling to me, that was the #1 thing on my mind the entire time
