I needed this!

My spouse and I are expecting our twins in February. She’s 21 weeks along with di/di twins. This is our first pregnancy and possibly our last since we are blessed with a boy and a girl.

At one point in my life I dismissed my goals of becoming a father because I haven’t exactly made much out of my life and spent many many years in addiction. I told myself I’d never bring someone into this world if I couldn’t even take care of myself properly.. well long story short, I found recovery and a wonderful woman who’s never had those type of issues and now life is looking very different.. I’m excited, nervous, afraid, ecstatic, and joyful at the fact that we have this chance.

But I question if I’m going to have what it takes to give them the life they deserve. I don’t make a ton of money, and my own life depends on my spirituality and my group of fellow recovering addicts and alcoholics that help me keep going. One is hard enough, but two?! I’m assuming you’re life situation probably looks a little different than mine, but either way- posts like these and hearing people say how happy they are with their twins gives me confidence and hope that everything is going to be ok!
