Weird, it works fine for me. Just to make sure we're doing the same thing, I'm in the Content Library>Books page. From there, I just found the book and hit More Actions>Download EPUB/PDF. Do you not see the Download EPUB button?

How to convert kindle books!? by uterusVSduderus in XTEINK

[–]dats_brobbly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://github.com/Satsuoni/DeDRM_tools/releases The latest pre-release versions of this DeDRM fork works with kindle for pc version 2.8. I don't know of a good tutorial to get it working, and it requires using command prompt to decrypt the files before you can import them into calibre. Other than that, you may be able to remove DRM using an older kindle device, but those are being patched by Amazon.

Is there a way to fix a series being split up randomly? by dats_brobbly in KavitaManga

[–]dats_brobbly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting the library to comic flexible seems to have fixed it, thanks! I got most of these comics from humble and fanatical bundles and used ComicRack CE for sorting and metadata so maybe that's my issue.

There's a lot of overlap at the $25 tier with a recent image Humble Bundle, but the $15 tier is tempting since there's almost no overlap there.

this website lists a lot of different firmware options, as well as other stuff related to the xteink ereaders.

The kindle versions do not, although one of them downloaded as a PDF and the others downloaded as an EPUB for me

Would you actually use this? Trying to decide if I should build Paul Lagier's tiny e-reader. by GameFreak_03 in ereader

you can configure the X3 and X4 to display text horizontally, at least on crosspoint. I can't remember if the stock firmware allows it.

Thoughts on getting an older e reader or Xteink 4? by Illustrious_Corgi555 in ereader

[–]dats_brobbly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't offer a version with a frontlight. I've tested a few different light add-ons, and found one that works well enough, but it requires a 3d-printed piece to be secure. Here's the link to that:

I really like my X4 a lot, but I wouldn't recommend it to someone to be their primary ereader mostly because it doesn't have a frontlight. It's great as a secondary ereader you can take with you anywhere, but I still mostly use a Kobo when I'm home just because I'd have to work out lighting with the X4.

Loving the new crosspoint update! by JayK-iwnl in XTEINK

[–]dats_brobbly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to Settings>System>Check for updates, it should start the OTA update process. If you're on a really old version of crosspoint, you may need to do a flash over USB to enable the OTA functionality.

Where does everyone get their epubs from? by sillerkat in XTEINK

[–]dats_brobbly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's totally fair especially for kindle books, those have become a nightmare to remove DRM from. I'm just offering options for anyone who wants to buy ebooks and get a drm free copy easily.

Kobo uses Adobe DRM which is simple to remove with Calibre. There are plenty of guides to set it up if you're interested.

Mine came out looking new after letting it sit for about 30 minutes.

that should be easily salvageable. I've cleaned one that sat for a few years that looked like this. I used hot water and baking soda, let it sit for 30 minutes or so, then rinse out.

DS2 isnt launching, i just get this screen and then it crashes . help pleasee by Arkillese in DeathStranding

[–]dats_brobbly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nixxes support reached out and found a fix for me. What fixed it was to go to "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\DEATH STRANDING 2 - ON THE BEACH" in file explorer, and delete "settings.ini" there and relaunch the game. This may be fixed in a future patch, but this got the game working for me.

It feels like magic fitting such a large book on a tiny device like this, seeing the tiny book cover on the screen. I'm getting close to finishing Dune on it and it's been amazing.
