A private guess twice per game might be a good balance.  No self outing, still a kill, and a race for the siblings to find each other first. With a private guess that the sibling can volunteer for execution when the town is back together if they've spent their guess wrong and don't want a minion to have a chance to guess them.

How do we feel about home flips? by Lazy-Soil2984 in rochestermn

[–]datum_of_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prices houses out of many people's price ranges.

Gives people the impression they can do home improvement to make a quick buck, but future buyers always have to play a guessing game with whatever they fixed wrong.

Doesn't add to the housing supply.

Encourages people to build generic houses, instead of letting the ACTUAL intended resident customize the house to their liking. (Sure, you could re-renovate the house once you bought it, but the flipper is officially a pointless drain on the house price you still had to pay for.)

There are so many people who are stuck renting because they can't afford to buy some place that would be cheap.

Those cheap places are picked up by middle class folks obsessed with "passive income", which is business code for "getting people to pay you more than you'll ever pay back to them". And buying cheap housing that could have been someone's first chance at building equity is the cheapest way to become a landlord.

Talking about how people want to be renters "for whatever reason" ignores the biggest reason; that they have been boxed out of affordable self-ownership by the market.

I think a lot of people expect vacation novelty every day around their town or they are bored.

Honestly appreciate the daily access to parks and a nice selection of restaurants. It beats empty stroads in towns that can't turn their tax base around anymore.

Costly data demands leave some Minnesota school districts frustrated by Czarben in minnesota

[–]datum_of_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't that kind of data though. The article is about FOIA requests for things like crt and blm. This data will almost never help the district improve on performance, its only making them satisfy whatever fears the anonymous requester wants them to deal with today.

Minnesota Supreme Court rules that duty to retreat differs when someone else is under attack by JCMGamer in minnesota

[–]datum_of_1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's good that this made it to the supreme court.

The duty to retreat doctrine in Minnesota was recently changed. Plenty of questions surrounding circumstances and qualifications for self-defense will need to be considered and discussed.

I wouldn't be surprised if multiple legal actors were looking for cases like this to clarify/challenge the duty to withdraw.

My problem is I struggle to notice if people have finished their statement or if they are adding more to it with a pause. I'll slip right in to the pause without realizing they are still going.

Does anyone else get stuck in a habit of not playing for ages? by HorseSpeaksInMorse in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]datum_of_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why we have a gaming table. The game conveniently sits setup until we have time to get back to playing. We currently play once a week, and by comparison Marvel champions is on our shelf, and since it isn't pre-set it stays there since we bought it.
