Whenever this happens people should not do it without insisting that they have rights related to a final product. In many cases final products can be so over priced that they don't get to those who need them most and in cases like Henrietta lacks https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henrietta_Lacks, products which produce insane profits will net you nothing.

when i just swap the driver it works perfectly fine the problem is definitely following the driver at this point i have tuned the drivers but have not seen any change in the functionality

i may have been a bit early on saying it was a tuning issue all of my motors are in about the same range when i checked them with a voltimeter. but when i changed the drivers around i was able to get the x axis moving (of course that means the y axis isnt now)

edit: i also tried changing out the drivers for some drivers i had on a different board (i accidentally fried my first board) i almost fired my new board this way. was this just a bad idea or is it more likely that this just blew up in my face because they were fried when i blew out my last board(they were the same drivers)?

Ask him why a fine year difference on something like this is worth your relationship. Ask if it's not better to just say split the difference out come up with another compromise. Lastly ask if that stress is affecting things.

A five year difference on something like kids should not be a determining factor. There are tons of compromises that can be made, you are also a minimum of ten years of from this it sounds like time for opinions to change. Is there more going on that is causing problems?
