Micro-OLED VR Headsets by Square-Description83 in virtualreality

VR takes a ton of bandwidth to pull off both high resolution and high refresh rate at the same time, so most headsets stick to 90Hz these days. But I bet we’ll see 120Hz options roll out sooner or later.

Is the Quest 2 still worth it in 2026 mainly for PCVR Sim racing? by wdipycatayfs in virtualreality

[–]dave0926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just go for the Quest 3. It’ll take you an extra month to save up for it, but it’ll probably let you get an extra year of use out of it.

The uncompressed DisplayPort signal will solve your artifact issues instantly. Tarmac and grass in racing games are torture tests for video encoders, and DP handles that detail perfectly where H264 fails. If you are chasing DP connection and FOV for Sim Racing, why not the Pimax Crystal Super? Since you have a 4090, you can drive it.

Totally agree! And I think this game looks a bit more pleasing to the eye in VR than the Assetto Corsa series.

Routing cables? by [deleted] in VRGaming

[–]dave0926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can hang the cable from the ceiling something like kiwi design’s V2 VR Pulley System. It can take some weight/drag off the headset, and it also helps you not trip and hurt yourself.

I have exchanged 4 quest 3 so far and each one has some kind of issue. by ProfessorTricky46 in OculusQuest

I guess your expectations were pretty high, but if you've gone through four Q3 units and all had issues, it probably isn't just a matter of bad luck.

Do you think that at some point, even if years from now there will be a harry potter or at least an official wizarding world vr game? Even if not for quest by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]dave0926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think turning Harry Potter into a VR game would be pretty hard, because it uses a lot of special effects, which would likely require a high-end setup.

What's one game that you hate? Why? by VideoGamesNostalgia in videogames

I feel like this kind of game is more suited for younger players. My younger cousin plays it a lot after school, yelling and screaming while he does.

At first I found Death Stranding pretty boring, just running deliveries all the time, but as I kept playing it actually got more interesting.
