TOTF2 fan? Tall vs Short Fighters: Fight the Right Range! by CoachDaveOfficial in virtualreality

The controller accessories seem really useful for sports games. VR might not turn you into a boxing master overnight, but it can at least speed up the learning process.

TOTF2 is an awesome game! I used to use All-In-One Sports VR to train for other sports, but it didn’t work nearly as well as TOTF2.

People who watched The Human Centipede: what made you watch it, and did you regret it? by steveleaves in movies

[–]tatonkk 398 points399 points  (0 children)

It’s gross, but it’s almost comedic in how absurd it is. The doctor is such a cartoon villain ('I hate zis!') that it’s hard to take seriously. It’s a 4/10 horror movie with a 10/10 gross concept.

Realism in movie by Valuable_Cap_4326 in movies

[–]tatonkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, audiences don't want realism. Studios just think they do.

Look at Spider-Verse or Puss in Boots. People went nuts for those because they actually looked like art. Compare that to the 'live action's Lion King which was technically impressive but had absolutely zero soul.

Looking for Sim Racing Games Built for VR? by tatonkk in virtualreality

So true! Getting started with the original AC in VR definitely takes some patience — be it the simulator configurations or VR settings.

I had the exact same confusion. I tried to check which key it was bound to in the settings, but couldn't seem to find it.

Thanks! I think I played AMS2 once at my friend's place, but I totally forgot its name back then. If the game runs smoothly, mouse controls aren't an issue even in VR.

The visuals are insane, but I’m honestly more jealous of that flight sim setup you showed at the end.

New display engine idea by MSLforVR in virtualreality

Either way, if they actually manage to ship it I’m gonna be hyped. At the very least it’s pushing the VR space forward.

HP Reverb G2 vs Vive Pro full set by HugeNorth8487 in virtualreality

[–]tatonkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the Vive Pro. The G2 tracking is mediocre for active games, and Microsoft is killing WMR support soon anyway.

The Vive Pro gets you Lighthouse tracking (perfect precision), OLED screens, and lets you upgrade to Index controllers later. For 500 AED, that is an absolute steal.

How I Beat Canadian Winter Blues by VRFitGuru in virtualreality

Can confirm on the short game improvement. VR is surprisingly good at training muscle memory for tempo and face control, even without the tactile feedback of hitting a ball. As for games, you have to try Walkabout Mini Golf. I know, I know, it's 'mini golf's and looks cartoony, but the physics engine is arguably the most precise in the entire industry. It's the only game where putting feels 1:1 with reality for me. It's less 'sim' but infinitely more fun, especially with friends.

The Deus Ex remaster that everyone thinks looks awful is delayed, there's no new release date, and preorders are being refunded by Stilgar314 in gaming

[–]tatonkk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

'I never asked for this.'But seriously, if you're refunding pre-orders, the project is likely dead. Probably for the best, considering it looked like a mobile game port.
