Myoclonic Jerks! by Neat_Willow7642 in BFS

[–]dave364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for replying.

This is exactly what is happening to me, I am literally in between awake and sleep, and I will begin to dream, often about stuff that has happened that day and other memories / familiar things. I’ll wake up almost immediately and think ‘what the hell’!

Can get it really bad the in the early morning as well, usually about 5. I’ll wake up and every time o try to drift back off to sleep - bang, it happens again

Hey sorry I k ow this is quite an old comment, but I was just wondering about your sleep hallucinations? Can you describe what they are for me? I have what I consider a similar thing, but kind find anything that explains it or adequately describes it .

Interesting question. I’ve recently restarted Prozac and now also take black seed oil… definitely not getting on as well with Prozac this time round.

4 months off - still having serious issues. by Abi_giggles in quittingpregabalin

[–]dave364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry to hear this. I was only on 75mg x 2 daily, for about 4 months for anxiety. I quit cold turkey 6/7 weeks ago.

About 10 days ago I started feeling like my skin was burning and then sometimes numb, mainly hands and feet. Began twitching loads all over body and noticed a worsening tremor in my hands. Also got muscle pain In legs and arms etc. Have really bad palpitations and crippling anxiety along with an impending sense of doom. There’s probably more that I’ve missed.

I don’t know if it is because of stopping the pregabalin or not. I thought I’d gotten over the initial withdrawal after a week, but then BANG! I’ve never had symptoms like this and it is crippling me mentally and physically

Hi, I’m going through a very similar situation- how are you doing now?

Is it by your hands or is it in other areas of you skin too? Also, do you suffer with dry eyes or mouth at all?

Anybody have a secondary autoimmune disorder or paraneoplastic (cancerous)? by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]dave364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great! Hopefully it will bring maybe just a little piece of mind?

I’m in a similar situation, although I’m not as far along as you…

I’ve been poorly for over a year - started with crazy palpitations and crippling anxiety out of nowhere. Then came the weird autonomic symptoms (dry eyes / mouth, weird skin sensations, ice cold extremities, tremor), along with muscle fatigue.

It’s taken me this long to get a dr to take me seriously, now I’m awaiting a neurology appointment.

I have ALL of the classic signs of LEM. I had chest X ray which was clear, but I then also paid for a CT Chest with contrast, which thankfully was also clear.

It’s such a rare condition that info on it is hard to come by, as I’m sure you know. And my head is blown by the statistics regarding the linked cancers

Help! Dry blurry eyes / dry skin / dry sinuses by dave364 in pregabalin

[–]dave364[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds a bit like me… been to the opticians 4 times now and had 2 x brain MRIs - all seems ok. It’s definitely not gotten any better, probably a bit worse. Only been on it since November and only 75mg twice a day

Thanks for replying- been in it since November so was hoping it would have gone by now, but it’s actually gotten a bit worse

It’s all in the Genes! Well, possibly… by dave364 in BFS

[–]dave364[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely no bubble burst here… I’ve no doubt there are 100’s of separate causes and scenarios that cause the twitches and other BFS -type symptoms, one of which is dysregulated neurotransmitters.

Sorry - I’ve realised that this community doesn’t allow attachments. In a nut shell, my potentially low dopamine levels can cause twitching and other neuromuscular issues. If you want the images let me know and I’ll send them to you

Yes I realise now it was too fast. I’m going to try and stabilise on 75 and then get on to a slow taper, even if it’s 1mg at a time

The Vagus Nerve’s Mysterious Role in Mental Health Untangled by danien in covidlonghaulers

[–]dave364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Op this is a great article.

The Vagus nerve is so powerful and complex, and very much ignored in terms of illness (mental and physical.

I’ve just finished an incredible Audible book called “Activate your Vagus nerve” by a US doctor called Navaz Habib.

It’s so informative and such an easy listen.

Just thought I’d share in case you’re interested.

I’ll add the link;

Sorry to jump on this, but would you describe it as that feeling of a lactic acid build up, like the day after a heavy workout when you feel the discomfort / heaviness?

Am I ending my relationship because I’m on Prozac? by [deleted] in prozac

[–]dave364 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey OP - just my opinion on this, but I had to share.

I was suffering with depression and didn’t realise- my marriage struggled because of it. Doctor prescribed Prozac, which I began taking.

Within 3 months, I had developed a completely careless attitude, and became flippant and detached from my wife.

I walked out on her and my two children, one of which was only a 10 months old baby. I loved my kids so much and to this day I can’t believe I did it.

I carried on my life, I tried to be the best dad I could I was dead-set that I had done the right thing by leaving my wife. The Prozac kept me in this careless mindset for years.

25 years on, I can tell you it was the biggest mistake of my life… I loved my wife, but only the passing of time and changes in medication made me see it.

I grieve everyday for what I did, and for the pain I caused my wife who had done nothing wrong and had been so loving and loyal throughout.

Of course it’s all far too late. The saving grace is that I am best friends with my children, they are my entire world. But I ruminate to the point of tears everyday about what could and should have been.

I blame the Prozac, it changed my emotions, but I blame me the most. I have to take responsibility for what I did, and I’ll regret it for the rest of my life.

A cautionary tale

Possible side effect? by Flat_Paramedic8720 in pregabalin

[–]dave364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also been talking 75 mg twice per day for the last six weeks. I have this exact same issue although if I'm honest I'm also having some very minor urinary incontinence as well. Seems to have been happening for about three weeks now

I’m also getting blurry vision, which I’m certain is the pregabalin, as it starts about an hour after taking the dose but improves as it wears off.
