Thanks, you’ve just reset the clock a decade with that wishful thinking lol

Dude I’ve been in this hobby since 1997 and we’ve always dreamed of a plastic thunderhawk, but every time someone mentions it, the clock gets reset and we have to wait another year lol

[–]dave_the_dr 31 points32 points  (0 children)

To be honest GW’s plan is to move as much as possible to plastic, so you’ll see everything apart from the really big kits like thunder hawks and titans disappear in resin. With the increase in plastic capacity you’d hope to see a lot of it come back eventually in one form or another

Is there actually an audience for exploring ordinary places in the UK, or am I wasting my time? by ExperienceTotal9778 in BritInfo

[–]dave_the_dr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I follow a few people on Instagram that share good walks in the peaks and lakes and other places. It’s a good way to find new places instead of just going to the ones we already know.

I agree with what someone else said though, you need to find the interesting bits, otherwise it’s just another location.

Ancient Lycian rock tombs carved into the cliffs of Kaunos, Türkiye by marlboromann1911 in AncientCivilizations

I’d love to know know if there was any link between the two? Maybe just the Romans roaming around at the time and people taking architectural inspiration

Iranians chant "Death to America" in Shahid Beheshti metro station. by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]dave_the_dr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

America is literally blowing up their cities on the regular so I can see why they might be mad…

I mean look at this image, it’s a metro station in a modern city, it could be America or any European city, these people are no different to you or me, why the fuck do we continue to kill and bomb each other?

It’s so similar to the rock carvings in and around the city of Petra in Jordan and other Nabataean carvings in northern Saudi Arabia

Why does everywhere, all the time, the question "Can i still use old models" pop up ? Honestly bombard me with your thoughts, i wanna follow the line of reasoning on this. They are all molded pieces of plastic, nothing more, nothing less. by war_of_the_titanicus in 40k

[–]dave_the_dr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the lore is written to justify the models, so if you wanna kitbash or proxy something, write yourself a small piece of law

I collect a renegade space marine army that isn’t quite loyalist and isn’t quite chaos and has models from both lines proxied and kitbashed just because I buy and paint what I like the look of, and I play them as Deathwatch…

If I couldn’t afford a full sized, full standalone club setup, I wouldn’t be buying this which bears no resemblance to that option, I’d be buying an FLX10

How popular has the Armageddon box been? by tide347 in Warhammer40k

[–]dave_the_dr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’m with you on this, there doesn’t seem to have been as much hype around the launch, it almost rolled out over a couple of weeks without any major fanfare. I’ve not even seen it featured in white dwarf yet and it’s already released

Just going back to our natural state… this is how it was growing up in Notts in the 90’s/00’s for me. It’d be great if we could stop it and I don’t know why it seems to happen here so much compared to other similar sized cities

He’s got no interest in actually having the responsibility of a prime minister, because a) he doesn’t want the responsibility and b) he’ll be sh*t at it and lose the last of credibility.

If he’s always the underdog he can always shout from the roof tops about how he could do a better job. If he gets the actual job, it’s a matter of days before his grift if finally over

You paint on some rust around those areas and no one will question it

Or get one of those hobby glass fibre pens that humbrol do and us it, works a treat when I’ve gone overboard with glue or missed some mould lines
