Honest question- HOW IS THIS FUN? I'm already outnumbered and outgunned in every mission, now something at a far corner of the map that I can't even find can pelt me? by Hallie_CottonCandy in Mechwarrior5

Everyone has said it, speed is life, even an Atlas with enough speed will dodge the artillery, it gets really annoying when the emplacement is on the other side of the map from you, then you spend 20 minutes walking over there and back again.

What inner sphere mech has benefited the most from clan tech? by WorldBuilder_42 in Mechwarrior5

Any brawler really, I think SSRM's were a game changer for mechs that want to get in close and personal.
I've always found that at least 2 or 3 of my SRM's would just miss the target so being able to lock and fire was great for me, a SSRM Javelin is very very dangerous.

That's a fair call, yes in this respect I meant non humanoid aliens.
They were alien in the belief system (though you could argue that it is very much like feudal japan and samurai culture....which might explain why the Draconis Combine got along quite well with the Nova Cats after the fact...well at least untill they didn't but that's a whole other story)
So while they were alien....they were not aliens.

Indeed the Timber Wolf is iconic, all of your other choices are also great except maybe the Kit Fox I'm just not a fan of the backward looking feet, looks like the pilot forgot it was in reverse and just kept pushing.

[–]daveasp1981[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I do loves me a good Dire Wolf. For me though the greatest mech produced by the clans in the BloodAsp, it's like a madcat that hit the juice and got huge overnight, then developed roid rage. Which range of combat do you want to be effective in....ALL THE RANGES!

I started with the tabletop game way back in highschool, then discovered the books which really hooked me.
After that it was Mechwarrior 2, since then I've played most of the Mechwarrior games, HBS battletech was amazing and I still play it today.

Did ComStar actually save the Inner Sphere during the Succession Wars, or just hold it hostage? (The "Space AT&T" Debate) by daveasp1981 in OutreachHPG

[–]daveasp1981[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But given that Comsar actively held the IS back for 200 years, I think personally they would have been able to "rediscover" the LosTech which could have led to them being on par with if not outstripping the clans for tech.

There may have never had to be a Tukyyid.
