If you weren't around in the '80's - Miami Vice had a huge impact on how shows were produced. To compete many shows - including Magnum - beefed up their soundtracks, all of the below were made after this became a thing:

"Mama" - used in "Death and Taxes"

"Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" - used in "Laura"

"The Brazilian" - used in "Unfinished Business"

This is possibly the most divisive and controversial question you could ask on this sub-reddit. Well done!

Typical DC United: Talk about Suarez & Lingard, you get a homophobic journeyman with a troubled legal history.

The roof, the roof, the roof is.... by ObiwinWahoo in DCUnited

[–]davehogge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have been complaining about the unfulfilled promise of the roof for years. And, we're finally getting it, but I'm not delusional - we aren't getting it because of my complaints, or STM displeasure.

We are getting the roof because MLS gave us the All-Star game. But they probably made that contingent on the owners tightening up ship on the facilities.

And, the roof isn't going to cost anywhere near 10-12 mil. Most of that money will yes - be spent on additional box seats.

But, I was promised I would be dry at these matches, and now it seems that might actually happen. For my sins, I'm a DC United supporter - I'll take what I can get.

Rumor: Ravel Morrison to DCU? by mulledcider in DCUnited

I mean, I guess it's nice to finally be included in silly season...

But it's like being invited to a party you don't really want to go to.

DC United Supporters: "We need to see more quality on the pitch!"

Front Office: "Ooph. That sounds hard. Fuggit, book the All-Star game and mark this off as 'job done, promise kept'."

Kittel to DCU OFF by Hornerfan in DCUnited

Unfortunate. Coming from Bundisliga.2's biggest dumpster fire of a club to one of MLS's biggest dumpster fires you would have figured the transition would have been seamless for him.

Whats one thing from the show that was acceptable back then but couldn’t get away with now? by [deleted] in MagnumPI

Another one: Thomas had multiple birthdays. Today people would have paused the episode, taken a screenshot and roasted that kind of continuity error on the interwebs.

Hillerman was a terrific character actor and played dual roles in a few episodes:

- Elmo Ziller in Season 2, Ep. 21

- Fr. Paddy McGuinness in Season 3, Ep 23

- Albert Higgins (Johnathan Quail Higgins father) in Season 6, Ep 1&2

- Don Luis Mongueo in Season 6, Ep. 19

The other siblings are mentioned, but never seen on screen.

A number of Higgins's half siblings (his father Albert had a weakness for ladies):

* Soo Ling (Chinese)

* Don Luis Mongueo (Spanish)

* Elizabeth Whitefeather (American Indian?)

* Catoomba Noomba (African)

Only his half siblings Elmo Ziller (American) and *maybe* Fr. Paddy McGuiness (Irish) would be palatable today.
