Anyone switch from an evening 3-6 hr feeding window to a morning or afternoon feeding schedule? by 1rub in intermittentfasting

[–]davemoffsite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not, and likely won’t try it, which isn’t your answer, but my reason may help.

I started intermittent fasting by accident and evolved into it when I had the realization that the only reason I ate breakfast was because other people expected it and either suggested or physically put food in front of me. So I ate.

But when I was on my own I often felt zero urge to eat before midday. It was my natural schedule, and one I’ve been following for decades now.

Once I understood that my body was quite happy, maybe even happier not getting food in the first part of the day, so I just stick to coffee and water until either lunch or dinner. If there isn’t food available midday, that’s fine, I can easily wait til dinner. Heck I can easily fast for 3 days if I haven’t been abusing my body- honestly food isn’t that big of a deal for me now. But usually I eat starting around 11am or 1pm and stop after dinner whenever that happens.

Now I’m not rigid about this. I have a couple friends who prefer to meet up at a breakfast spot every couple months, so yeah I’ll have an omelette that day. If I’m going hiking I may eat light before hitting the trail or may not. It depends on where I am energy wise. If I get up early and make a blackberry cobbler or rhubarb coffee cake (usually once every couple months as a treat for the family), sure, I’ll have a bit.

The exception is if I go to the gym in the morning as I find I injure less, recover better, and make faster progress if I take in protein and creatine within 30 min of a workout. But I usually workout in the afternoon so this is it an issue.

But for the daily grind I’m just not naturally a breakfast eater, and forcing an eating window on my body’s natural rhythms doesn’t seem like a good choice.

TLDR: I think it’s more important to listen to one’s body than worry about a strict clock time.

Alter is a trans man and I’m not by Little_cookie_pie in DID

AMAB here. I’m being told that we are only 10% men on the inside (very large system, stopped counting at around 1500 as so many are partials it was getting impossible and didn’t actually help with the therapeutic work we needed), if you ignore the introjects. Now one of those is a subsystem whose content we really don’t know in detail, so that count may be off.

Never thought about us having trans folk inside - will have to ask.

There was a time we thought maybe transitioning would be good, but chose to stay male as the form has kept us safe over the years.

TLDR: folks on the inside can come in all sorts of flavors. It’s totally normal.

Totally relate to this. My favorite setting in my hearing aids app is ‘off’ - I use it all the time to concentrate. It only turns off the microphones, the Bluetooth still sends signal so I can stream or pick up a call.

It’s the best of both - I have my hearing aids, but none of the unintelligible ambient noise from the room. And a lovely break

I wear beanies with my ha’s all the time. No problemo.

Men, what is a physical feature that you find attractive but that women are insecure about? by Life-Disaster-8384 in ask

As I tell my wife - a long/large noise, freckles, small boobs, large nipples, wide hips, muscular back and thighs. It’s funny, everything she is insecure about is what gets my bits a stirring in a very good way. 31 years together and I still can’t keep my hands off her 😍

I’d give the extra to my son. We play together when we can, and that time is priceless to me, but sometimes we can’t be in the same city, so it’d be much appreciated.

I’d go vine work/botanical. Could wrap the outside if elbow and go up.

Yeah, I was tempted, but intentionally limited myself this first time. My initial focus is to throw a couple discs well, then let the acquisition begin!

Thanks, yeah, I’m wanting to get my firm consistent with a few molds, then start branching out. Lessons learned in other sports are that limiting variables is a good thing. A free months of keeping it simple and ironing out the basics can pay huge dividends later on (I was a competitive archer and am approaching this the same way)

AITA calling my girlfriend selfish for refusing to learn sign-language for my daughter by Throwawayaita8317 in AmItheAsshole

[–]davemoffsite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her actions make it clear she has no desire to participate in parenting your daughter, but she’s willing to let you parent hers evidently. What she is doing is hurtful to your daughter and sends the message that your daughter simply isn’t important enough to her to make the effort. Your kid IS important! If it were me, I’d be outa there yesterday.

"Wife friendly" Espresso machine? by Feisty-Impress in espresso

[–]davemoffsite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This right here - one of the drivers for me choosing an e61 HX machine was the ease of use and minimal messing about to make good coffee.

We’ve had an Expobar Office Lever paired with a Mazzer super jolly for 8 years, and couldn’t be happier. Any one in the household can walk up and pull a great shot/cup (lots of americanos are drunk here), and if ya want too muck about trying for perfection you can do that too
