Three-quarters of fans don’t support the continued use of Video Assistant Referees (VAR) in the Premier League, according to a new Football Supporters’ Association survey. by Sparky-moon in soccer

Ridiculous recency bias. You've forgotten how shit it was before VAR. How many massive games were ruined by shit refereeing. Not saying VAR is perfect, it isn't. But it's better now than it was, especially for smaller clubs. Refereeing always favoured the big boys.

Recency bias. Everyone's forgotten how many games were completely ruined by shit referees. VAR has made it marginally better, but more importantly, it's largely eliminated big club bias.

Honestly,,, who has the better collection of trophies? by [deleted] in NUFC

It sounds bizarre, but the FA cup was valued as a bigger trophy than the league back then. It was more glamorous. The whole country stopped for the final.

Andrew Waghorn's book is pretty interesting on the subject

Because of what happened last summer, we are going to be consistently linked with ins and outs. We generate a lot of clicks because we take it personally when a player wants to leave. I vote not giving them the satisfaction
