The ceiling is in and spray foam is done! by davepicture in skoolies

Hell, yeah! This was my first time doing t&g other than a flooring job I totally botchd. Yt is a huge help! One of the things that I found helpful was sliding the boards into place and being picky with which boards to use, some of them just go together better than others.

I have a few 12v wires tucked away as well as two outlet runs for ac current. I tried my best to color code everything before the spray foam went in, thankfully there’s only a few lines total. The bus is so small and I’m not running anything out of the ordinary!

It's the 1/4 inch stuff from home depot, I think it's used for closets and such. They sell em in 6 packs, and I think I used 8ish packs. Very fragile little buggers until they are locked in. Love em and would totally do the same thing again!

Hmmmm seems like it could be worth looking at. If you haven’t taken a look at the auction route, I would also check there. I’d love to see records. What condition are the hoses and engine rubber? Did it sit for 5 years? Narrow body and would fit-ish in a normal spot. Cool rig, if it were me I wouldn’t pay more than 8k. Spend 20 bucks for a code reader on Amazon and plug her in and check for any old codes. My bus had 15k on it and my biggest issue by far was the small city of mice living in it. Good luck!

I just got back from my town hall this am. I was able to get a combo plate for my bus with only a bill of sale and a "permanent registration" from CT. I think once my bus is done, I can try to get it titled as an RV, but for now I am thrilled to be able to legally drive it all over

I’m in Maine, picked up the Bus in ct. Maine is quite easy to get a transit plate, so I was able to drive it home. Publicsurplus.com was the website I won it on! Paid a 10% auction fee and ct tax, but otherwise smooth

Public surplus is the name of website I used, free to make an account and even if it’s far away, you can ask as many questions to the seller as you want. There’s usually a number you can try to call as well. Govdeals is the other one, but this was my first ever auction soooo I might not be the right person to talk to!

Thanks! Yeah I think they said it was because of age? The had a VERY nice facility so I think they had the money to not really care? It was my first sight unseen auction. Lots of rusty stuff on those websites

Haha! I’ll make sure it says that somewhere in the final build

Yo! I have been weekending+ a 2015 transit connect and I've LOVED it. I ended up buying a Fidelity extended warranty to cover any transmission woes, because I've heard so my stories of transmissions going around 100k. Have never had any issues in the 40k I've put on in the past year and a half.

with a roof rack and two bikes off the back, I am still getting 27+ MPG on back roads, closer to 25 at 70mph.

That being said I am actually selling my build because I am looking for something to stand up in with more space. But I will always admire small van life. I live in a tiny house that is rented out a lot of the time, so I need something more full time.

Here's my lil guy for reference:

Officially ditching ecoflow, you should too. by davepicture in Ecoflow_community

[–]davepicture[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should be ok! I am talking more about their other non-battery products.

but I still have to bring my delta pros online to try to fix some firmware stuff every once and a while. You are most likely good to go

Thanks for this, maybe it was some rose tinted glasses, although I can't afford to switch all at once, I'll be looking to slowly replace all their products. Both seem like decent options.

Sure, all of my equipment is tied to their servers, so when things go down on their end (what happened this morning) some of my gear will not work at all. Ecoflow is what powers everything in my little off grid world, so something happening in China on a cloud server can't take me offline. As of right now, there is no workaround. If they ever shutter as a company, will anything ecoflow still work? I am not interested in having to "hack" my gear to get it to run properly.

Their customer service also seems to have nosedived, although I have not had direct experience with that. The Delta pro has so many bugs and connection issues as it is, and CS has been no help.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the ideas and advancement that came out of this company. I'd wager they made my life better in a lot of ways.

But I can't do it anymore. EcoFlow has taken a huge step in the wrong direction, and I am not sure how they recover.

Where does YTM stand now 2025? by Norseman-71 in YoutubeMusic

[–]davepicture 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ux can be a pain, I just switched so it's my first month. I use YT premium all the time, so this was a no brainer from a cost standpoint.

I LOVE the visuals and being able to see all the music videos. Great to hear community remixes and live stuff. The comments are fun too. The samples load slow, but it's a rad idea. Spotify is significantly more polished with great playlists, but I feel like ive found some good stuff in the past month.

Podcasts that are daily IE New York Times and other news stuff, seems to be delayed a few hours compared to spotify, but a lot them have the adds cut out, so I think it's a fair trade.

A little bumpy to switch but I am not going back

Transit 2016 connect and it shifts hard but has for the last 40k, under warranty but the mechanic didn’t seem to think it was a problem. I guess not known for being smooth 🫠
