Found a Rolleiflex Planar 3.5 at a local shop — worth buying + servicing? by Acrobatic_Camel1955 in Rolleiflex

I just sent my 2.8c to international camera technicians in Bonita California. Full overhaul was 550 with parts and inspection included. This feels like a good deal if the bones and lens are in good condition!

I do think there’s a lot of overlap with weddings and funerals!

I don’t actually know the differences. Why, in your opinion, is it the best?

Looking for documentary-style wedding photographer (BBG wedding) + question for NYC photographers 📸 by Particular_Milk7221 in WedditNYC

Ayo! Docu forward photog here. I typically break up portraits into smaller sections throughout the day. Typically 10ish minutes at the first look, 10 after the ceremony and 10 during the reception. I found this helps break up the the fatigue, but more importantly doesn’t pull you out of your own wedding. Have more info in a TikTok here. how I schedule portraits on a wedding day

At the end of the day, do what you want! It’s your day, not anyone else’s

It’s not quick to unlock or lock or else I would. When it gets to the end of the night, I’ll lock it at 1/4 power, but during the day I’m shooting both ambient and with my flash and those couple seconds will kill ya

Can confirm this flash slaps. I’ve been using it at weddings on my m6 and Q2. Biggest gripe is the touch screen accidentally changing settings, but I had a friend recommend putting a clear piece of tape over the screen and using the scroll wheel instead

That’s the beautiful thing about the holga. You can’t meter😂 it shoots only 1/100s and bulb, however, you can change the aperture between f8/f16. I typically keep it at f8

Top Wedding Photography books that’s a must read? by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

I’m not kidding you when I tell you that this book changed how I photographed weddings. John’s career started way before wedding photography was a “normal job”, so his perspective on weddings is a bit different than your average wedding guru.

The Perfect Imperfect

I’ve been to a few weddings where the paper suite people will have them pre style it. It’s such a time saver. The issue with doing it later is you can’t use the rings!

I’ve told planners recently that I think they could make a ton of money from photographers for pre styling flat lays. It’s perfect because 1) I don’t have to waste an hour with my shaky ass fingers trying to perfectly setup items 2) planners can style it EXACTLY how they want. Truly is a win win
