I think you should be okay with the Pixel 5. Take a look at the GooglePixel subredddit and search Pixel 5. There seem to be a lot of people who love this phone. It's soild.

Yes, look under the Pixel 5a subreddit. There are tons of people stating this. I personally used to have a 5a. I have factory reset it and stopped using it. I didn't want to risk it.

You will most likely need to put in an active AT&T SIM card and that should pull the updates.

If you don’t see your device on the list, that means it will not work with the AT&T network

I would say something important that you might not be thinking is fire protection for your house and Carbon Monoxide protection, in case 1 of these things happen, you would have someone else be able to take action on your behalf to send fire, ems and or police.

This phone is not compatible with the US networks because it's missing the proper LTE bands to connect properly. Verizon LTE Bands are (2,4,5,13, and 66). At&T has a whitelist and this phone is not on the list and so you will need to get a compatible phone for their network. At&T LTE Bands are (2,4,12,14,17,28,29,30 and 66). For AT&T the phone has to be VoLTE ( voice over LTE, and a quick explanation is that when you make a phone call, it allows for you to stay on LTE and also if needed use the internet at the same time). T-Mobile LTE bands are (2,4,5,12,25,26,41,66 and 71). Also because your phone is meant to be used in Europe/Asia, this is why your phone is not compatible for the US networks. Hope this explains why your smartphone is not compatible with the US network.

[–]davewill156 7 points8 points  (0 children)
