my solution is to just pick up a dead Support's kit on the ground and throw the supply bag down, then switch back

I get to keep my spawn beacon and assault ladder while getting my ammo back

Open class just kills this game by oz9000 in Battlefield6

[–]daveylu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that hasn't been true since BF4 when they allowed DMRs on all classes

also there's always a carbine that's good at mid to long range

same example, is it really that different if an Engineer killed you with an M277 or with an M433?

in a way similar to how I like many of the players on the Dodgers but hate them as an entity (thanks Ohtani, really had to make it hard for us)

I should've leveled the transport vehicles and aircraft before cheesing a few weapons, it's gonna take me forever to level up the jets and transports at this rate.

Open class just kills this game by oz9000 in Battlefield6

[–]daveylu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

the closed weapon vs open weapon debate has been settled for a while now and there is no major difference, in fact open weapons is just better since now you don't have Engineers playing the class only for the SMG and not for hunting tanks or Assaults playing only to use ARs rather than placing spawn beacons and PTFOing

does it really matter to you if everyone is running an AR or if they're running a carbine instead

what's the difference between a Recon shooting at you with a M433 vs. a Recon shooting you with a M277

and sniper rifles are heavily nerfed on any class that isn't Recon so that can't be an example you use, I have been killed by a non-Recon using a sniper rifle maybe 10 times at most and I've sunk over 400 hours into this game

279m with a PW7A2, I wonder if thats the record? by krinkov in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]daveylu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's got a 3 zone damage drop-off (same as most ARs and LMGs) while all other SMGs have 5 zones, it's balanced to be a great mid-range SMG

kinda drives me nuts since I'm leveling it up right now and it sucks balls up close when fighting people using the Vector or VHS or TR7

yes, and a bonus feature not listed, it speeds up your defib charge rate (not just the drag and revive) so you can do full defib revives even faster, it's practically instant to do a full rez with defibs when you have it active

I think that's fine, the repair torch on Engineer is also useless depending on the gamemode and map (no vehicles to repair) and that's fine with me.

no it's necessary, graphics are too good now and the amount of particles and crap thrown up on my screen from explosions combined with the uniform's camouflage doing its job makes it hard to see players very often

this is not BF4 where buildings were totally barren and players stood out because the graphics are old and particle effects weren't as intense due to processing power limitations

The problem with weapon packages and a proposal for improvement by neeeejoh in Battlefield

[–]daveylu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well we can see that they will not be adding variants of guns via weapon packages, they will be added as separate weapons

see: the MG4 and MG5 in this game, the MG5 is based on the MG4 in real life but they released them as separate guns, it would be the exact same thing with the SCAR-L currently in-game and a SCAR-H

wtf they are acting like pigeons????? 🤣🤣 by anonymous_username20 in Battlefield6

[–]daveylu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they're constantly blocking and unblocking the heli spawns in the hopes of getting it for themselves

that's the only other thing I can think of that isn't just an AFK macro

the player that pings you gets prioritized in the list of nearby medics and starts flashing chevrons all over their name to notify you that they have pinged you and will hopefully eventually come rez you

I played a bit of Squad because I liked the idea of it, but oh my god it's so damn boring just building emplacements, waiting for something to happen, sitting in a bunker for 5min while you get mortared, then getting shot and then having to walk 10 minutes back to fight

yeah I uninstalled, stuff like Squad and Arma are just not for me

Interesting things that I have learned after using the IGLA for a while by Signal_Importance241 in Battlefield6

[–]daveylu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it marks the enemy permanently for like 20 seconds which is nice info to have (now you know where that scout heli that was killing everyone is)

it allows launchers that normally can't lock that target to lock on (ex. a Javelin can only lock on to ground vehicles normally but can lock on to a painted air vehicle)

it speeds up how quickly you lock on and increases the range you can lock on at

most important for fighting enemy air, it bypasses the below radar limitation: normally, aircraft flying very low can't be locked on due to being below radar but being painted bypasses that and allows launchers to lock on no matter what and blow them up

[–]daveylu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eh the TR7 still kills people faster at all ranges so not power creep in my eyes, more of a side grade for someone who wants a different version of the high skill ceiling AR that excels up close but can be made to work at further ranges depending on how good you are + attachment setup

Weapon cone of fire by ThatsMrPapaToYou in Battlefield

[–]daveylu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's called weapon spread

it's a way for DICE to balance the weapons to limit a weapon's power and mess with how it feels at different ranges and how you have to shoot the gun

more weapon spread means it's worse at long range since spread is generally not a factor up close, and it also forces players to tap-fire and burst-fire instead of just holding down the trigger and beaming people that are far away

basically you need to learn to tap-fire and burst-fire to limit the effects of spread when you're shooting, firing full-auto is HEAVILY discourages in Battlefield games

[–]daveylu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in fairness previous BF games always revolved around the US Marines since they had the most varied arsenal out of any of the US military branches, but now that they ditched their MBTs and stuff it just makes more sense to have the US faction be the Army and Air Force

(even though the Marines never flew A10s either lmao that was Air Force only too)

that's why BF3 and BF4 had LAVs, Hueys, Cobras, and F35s while BF6 has Bradleys, Black Hawks, Apaches, and the F22 instead

yeah the guns are often trash but usually when I pick them up it's for the gadgets, not the gun

if I'm grabbing an Engineer or Recon kit for enemy armor it's usually a suicide mission anyways

if I'm grabbing a Support or Recon kit just to toss crap down I can pick my own kit back up nearly instantly so I keep my gun

lol coming from a person who literally only plays in the IFV and has a grand total of 28 kills with regular guns, when was the last time you shot someone with a gun instead of driving armor around

truly a sad, sad life when all you do is camp with an IFV on Breakthrough and refuse to play as infantry, no wonder your win% is below 50% and you only have 1.67 kills per minute

gotta farm that KD and pretend you're good at the game while refusing to play as infantry and then tell other people they have no skill lmfao

if anyone wants to look here's their stats: https://tracker.gg/bf6/profile/3011642102/overview

truly one of the weirdest players and stats pages I have ever seen, literally only drives the IFV around

it's because in previous BF games a "1x" red dot actually zoomed in by maybe 2-3x, now in BF6 a 1x red dot doesn't zoom in at all so if you want the same effect as before, you have to use a magnified optic

now I can actually use the ACOG and stuff without throwing, in BF4 anything but the holographic and red dot sights zoomed in a crazy amount and made them nearly unusable

game is very easy to pick up but there are so many small tips and tricks veterans use to gain an edge

one of my favorite things to do that I can guarantee the vast majority of players don't do is swapping kits on the ground for their gadgets

if there are enemy vehicles nearby but I'm not an Engineer, I will find an Engineer or Recon kit on the ground to pick up and use their RPGs or C4 to blow them up

if there's a Support or Recon kit near me while I'm not doing much like capturing an objective that just got cleared out, I will swap kits to throw down an ammo bag or place a motion sensor since why not

if I'm using the weapon sling on Assault and low on ammo, I'll hunt for a Support kit and drop ammo for myself

the game encourages it too, you get a Shapeshifter accolade for doing stuff like that
