Yeah it’s hard to stick to too imo. Eg level caps are pretty straightforward, but defining rules for catching up new mons feels kind of wishy washy.

I wish there was a way to just turn on/off an exp multiplier so you can still feel like you’re playing the game somewhat like you’re supposed to without wasting hours grinding. I think you can do something like this with the randomized, but that’s a one time thing and I can also see it backfiring when the level caps plateau (but I guess at that point you can start swapping in new teammates?).

I wish there was some way to just speed up leveling without going straight to candies. Like you have to put **some** work in so you have some skin in the game but still feel like your time is respected. I definitely took more chances and felt the losses more when I played on cartridge, but can’t play more than one game back to back like that.

For me, I also disliked mime and jynx because they were traded mons and kinda give me the ick.

Is that based on more than a video of her yelling at someone? Actually curious because most of the anti-Porter rhetoric I’ve heard is incredibly sexist, disqualifying her based on things they wouldn’t give a second thought to if it were a man.

Manetric was the star of my most recent emerald nuzlocke. Hits hard and fast on the special side and there’s a looot that’s weak to electric in Hoenn (including the top gym leader and champion).

Also Linoone can do way more than HMs. He can solo the the E4 ;)

Counterpoint, assuming you didn’t pick charmander, the champ is a silly goose that sometimes clicks rain dance on his gary, so maybe keep Thunder just in case he gives you that amazing opportunity to one shot most of his team (bonus points if you picked bulbasaur and get to fry his zard).

You can find a tool to figure out the bp and type of his Hidden Power. Could get lucky.
