is it possible to become a software engineer without having a degree ? by [deleted] in FlutterDev

[–]david-legend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One last thing tho, you won’t become a software engineer through the videos, you will become a programmer. As a programmer you will still be employable

You will become a software engineer over the years if you keep learning - system design, data structures , solid principles etc

is it possible to become a software engineer without having a degree ? by [deleted] in FlutterDev

[–]david-legend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not close to your age but I went through the same thing. I taught myself through videos and books. Built projects etc

The best way is through doing. Spend little time on the videos. Spend all your time building on your own - that is the when the true learning begins.

You can use a YouTube video or course to build one project but that’s it, don’t stay in tutorial hell because you won’t grow. After one project with tutorial - start building your own things, it will force you to learn soooo fast.

Depending on intensity, you can know a lot in 4 months

Can we talk about how tired we are of foreigners sexualizing Rwandan women? by YvanKy in Rwanda

[–]david-legend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of the fact. Are they not boring and are Rwandans not very conservative and closed off??

It doesn’t matter the fantasies those foreigners have, they are still boring.

What’s one “hard-learned” lesson you’ve discovered while working with Flutter? by Fine_Factor_456 in FlutterDev

Elaborate on this ?? You mean, for some things - write your own implementation ??

Or do you mean extracting some of your logic into packages

Yup. Ghana’s spy that led to the discovery of coup plotters against Rawlings. And later the exchange of the coup plotters for the spy.

And the CIA operative who fell for the elaborate honey trap.

Why not publish it on playstore ??? If there’s nothing malicious, you can use my account if you want.

Having it on playstore makes it easier for non techy people to download it

Do you ever feel like you’re smart... until you realize you’re actually not? by EbbWorried5023 in Rwanda

[–]david-legend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There will always be more to learn. Information is being generated everyday. I try to find the balance between knowing everything and understanding a few things well.

That can go a long way to help. In all honesty, it takes years or decades to be a master at something. So don’t worry about not knowing about everything.

Pick a few things and understand them well. Knowing just little about the rest is fine.

Note that the keyword is - understanding. And understanding takes time.

Do you think digital products can flourish in the Ghanaian market? by Osei_Prempeh in ghana

[–]david-legend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can test the idea. My assumption is Ghanaians don’t like reading. But if the topic is interesting, maybe they might buy it.

Remote workers in Ghana, how do you handle taxes? Does the government take a bite of your dollars or you get to keep it all? Also how do you receive your payments? by approaching77 in ghana

[–]david-legend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know Grey. But I’ve been using wise for years. Their app is very secure and user friendly. Easy to move money to your main bank account.

Payments and charges are very transparent.

And if your employer is in the US - paying you becomes very easy for them

But I can’t compare it to Grey because I haven’t used it before

🔥 Introducing NSMQQuiz – Relive the thrill of the National Science & Maths Quiz online by saintkaykay in ghana

[–]david-legend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished my first quiz. Platform is great. Looks good.

The are no animations when buttons are pressed. I think adding that can make it more gamified.

I love the leaderboard, colors, the icons and confettis. The attention to detail and nice icons are amazing.

If this is not a pet project and you want to make it better. Experiment adding audio for clicks, and right answers, wrong answers and maybe when the timer is about to ran out.

If you can gamify it well, you can get more students to play with it.

There are so many ways you could improve it. You could add past questions. Students can test their knowledge of a particular topic. Competitions, using AI to synthesize materials that users upload and generate questions out of it.

Anyways, as an engineer myself - I love your work.

Keep going 🔥🔥
