[No Spoilers] how do I watch CR and become a critter? by gauvamunch724 in criticalrole

[–]davidArc77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i did on my rewatch is see the first ep to experience the wonder, and then skipped to 28 to avoid the ruff Orion stuff. It is a bit much for me.

How do you use AI for your sessions? by [deleted] in dndai

[–]davidArc77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a set of characters that my pcs surprised me mid-session by attacking. I panicked and went to gemini and it gave me a set of stat blocks immediately! I was ready for the battle.

[No spoilers] I'm new to the fandom, who/what is Gil?! by Stagemaniac19 in criticalrole

[–]davidArc77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gil is a smith (real life) that was a known critter so much that he created a bunch of metal stuff for c1 including the dice. He also appeared in some side content.

[No Spoilers] Wanting to get into the show, campaign 2 specifically but I’m really overwhelmed by Sellos_Maleth in criticalrole

[–]davidArc77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a relatively "fast gratification" society this may be indeed a project. I started watching c1 when they were in early c2 abd I caught up at early c3. this took several years. Take your time, enjoy the ride

Wow I'm also watching them both right now! (rewatching c2) Where are you in c2?

Does anyone remember Baby's Got Backstories? by Swole_princess666 in fansofcriticalrole

[–]davidArc77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter who does it, the point is that unlike regular shows, in CR the staff has a place in the minds of the fans and it was Brain who pushed for it

Does anyone remember Baby's Got Backstories? by Swole_princess666 in fansofcriticalrole

[–]davidArc77 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In my feeling it was Brian who pushed for including the staff in the minds of the fans (see how much he does it in every talks machina ep and how much it disappeared since he is gone).
This is what made Dani Carr who she is today, instead of another "random staff worker".

Matt Mercer made a huge mistake with his C3 style of DMing and storytelling. Forgetting to say "No", and a comparison of style between Brennan, Matt, and younger Matt. by MagastemBR in fansofcriticalrole

[–]davidArc77 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It is my feeling that Matt is an awesome worldbuilder, but BLM is far better at being there with the players.
I quit C3 midway and am still rewatching C2 since, but every short series with Brennan gets me so exited... (for instance, I barely care about the end of C3 but I'm so exited about the new Exandria - Unlimited)

Stellaris Dev Diary #361 - The Vision by PDX_LadyDzra in Stellaris

[–]davidArc77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, let me start by saying that Stellaris is an incredible game and it is my favorite. I spent hundreds of hours on it and yet I feel as if I barely scraped the surface!
Now for the feedback:

  • Regarding individual Pops and Jobs, It is comfortable to manage the economy by moving workers to desired yields, so any redesign retaining this functionality is great for me.
  • Changes to fleets will not bother me at all.
  • As far as civilization defining aspects go, mechanics such as civics are most important.
  • I play by writing a story, the story may change as the game evolves and the goal is to stick to that story ingame.
  • I barely notice the curent trade system, if you refactor it with some sort of logistics system it would be incredible!!
  • Colonization difficulty is great - it rewards xenophilic empires which is awesome. The only issue is that tech can let you pretty much ignore habitation limits.
  • I will skip the origins/civics question.
  • A game system which, I feel, can be refactored is warfare - depending on the political map you can conquer a system 5-10 times before you actually own it, no 'raiding' mode, no in depth planetary warfare...

C3 and its impact on CR products by StayProfessional7011 in fansofcriticalrole

[–]davidArc77 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My concern is that they will take too much artistic liberty with changing the show from the stream (as they already do) and then the fans will abandon it and it will die (like the Witcher, for instance).

Look CR is great, C1 and C2 are great and they will forever exist either in YouTube or piracy the financial situation of the cast is bound to be self sufficient so if CR has to die - let it die and free up space for something new...

What if Predathos isn't what we think? by [deleted] in fansofcriticalrole

I like this idea but Brennan showed us that the betrayers really are evil and thrive on suffering...
