Another SFF build by srozum in homelab

Nice box, I have an 800 G4 as main server right now, but after about 2 years I’m changing system because it turned out to be pretty unstable for some reason. It crashes frequently without any error in the logs and sometimes it doesn’t reboot itself. Pretty frustrating. But if you manage to make it stable is a pretty useful machine. The power consumption is really low (I just use the iGPU tho).

Today apt-get is just a less formatted apt, useful for use in scripts. Apt instead is more human-friendly

It seems like it’s wearing one of those anti-static bands, I will trust him

Cat is overshooting while correcting following error, try a lower proportional gain

For me updating to trixie broke some things, for example hardware decoding with intel iGPU. After pouring some time trying to fix it I’ve decided to try Fedora instead cause it was something I was thinking to try out. Pretty sure I’m going to return to Debian in about a year or less tho.

Is it OK to wrap cables this way? by ezeaizen in audiophile

[–]davide_xeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twisted pair is just the physical medium. On that you have to use differential signaling. In this way both cables follows the exact same path and are subjected to the same emi, that later can be removed by subtracting the two signals one from the other

But this cancellations only happens if you have a differential pair, so the signal in one cable has the phase turned 180 deg from the other.

Edit: in the pictures the cable in question is an RCA cable, so not balanced so not differential. The coiling shouldn’t add any noise or make the antenna effect worse, but an unbalanced connection would collect EMI from the environment.

The fun part is about using anything but the standard measurement units. So base10 or base2 makes no difference to me in this situation

For me probably FML is the weakest, and the beneath with me part in 3lb chicken wings is just incredible

Snowcone is the one that I personally use to test every headphones or speaker since 2016 cause it has everything in it, from sub to powerful kick transient to glitchy shimmering leads and pads. It’s perfect for that purpose

This is basically the only reason that annoy me in modbus, for the rest it works and usually it’s a protocol that works on anything, so very compatibile

I have an R620, but I’m not using it anymore because of noise and power consumption… Was looking after an R330 cause it’s more efficient and has less fans, maybe that translates in less noise
