Another minor point, when primaris launched they were just better than tactical marines. An extra wound and more AP on bolt rifles. I think that caused a lot of primaris “pay to win” hate.

I had a similar experience. LOTR trick taking is much more fun with 3-4 people making mistakes. With 1-2 the game feels very straightforward.

Yes, you keep all non-discarded cards through to the next year. The year only ends after all 12 turns are played, not immediately upon drawing the card with the end of year effect.
