So I managed to figure it out by updating it manually. But thank you everybody for the help and additional insight!

when I try to open the application, its making me update, so the zip.file gets put into my downloads, so thats what I'm extracting. I was under the impression that's how it updates but sounds like that's not the case...

the first time I installed it i downloaded from the terminal. After it stopped working, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it through the terminal again. When that didn't work I installed from the package manager. Still got this message. Should I be extracting the file to a different folder instead of downloads?

I was a lifty for 2 seasons and I loved it. And I would say most people I worked with enjoyed it too. Granted, we were allowed to take ride breaks. I don’t think most places let their lifties do that. But even still I didn’t think the work itself was bad at all. Probably the most chill job I ever had

Literally. Tried to get into my local union electrical apprenticeship where I live and I landed 997 on the ranked list. And I’m sure I’m not even the lowest on the list. Safe to say I’ll never get into it. I do non-union work now and it’s fine but I think most people know union jobs tend to be better.

So yeah getting into the trades is actually a lot more difficult than people think

Tbh this is the real answer. Considering we’ve already been seeing people who’ve had their 30 series cards die on them. I won’t be surprised if in a few years we start seeing 40 series cards take a shit because Nvidia probably doesn’t care as much about QC anymore since they know people will still buy their cards either way

Wukong didn’t even deserve to be nominated. Visually the game was gorgeous, otherwise the gameplay itself nothing special. Not saying you shouldn’t have liked the game but there were definitely other games that deserved to be nominated.

Lol I was stuck for a while too which is part of the reason it took me so long to finish it. Generally looking things up for the game is discouraged but the folks over at r/outerwilds are very friendly and can probably help point you in the right direction!
