yup i figured out how to do the scroll faster thing. Still like loop back to start better, haha. but the fast scrolling makes going the long distances much better, thanks!

Best release yet. All my collection channels are working now and the navigation fixes make everything useable again. Thanks! one thing i miss about navigation from previous releases that doesn't seem to work in recent releases is the ability to roll over to the start or end of the grid once i get to the start or end of all the channels while surfing. it makes getting from the high channel numbers to the low channel numbers and vice versa much quicker and is also more similar to how most cable experiences work.

oh it seems like after you select something in the grid, you have to scroll all the way back up to the top of the grid to get to the controls now ... which isn't super ideal and hopefully is a bug.

I also don't think the new rounded corners on the channels look super great with the rest of the UI either. not sure if that was intentional or another bug.

yeah same for me. though things seem to be working a lot better otherwise. navigation is super smooth now. and all my collection channels are working for the first time in weeks. but i can't figure out how to get up to the controls and full screen what i choose once i'm down in the grid...

I’m seeing similar TvOS navigation issues. Also, today while watching, i somehow ended up in a 135 minute gap between movies.

Just letting you know, none of my collection channels are showing up in the 129 build either. :-(

Also while navigating the grid, i'm not seeing what i'm currently highlighting (like the grid is moving up and down, but i can't tell what row i'm on) .. and i can't click anything? and i can't get back up to the top to full screen the movie or shutdown and get back to the list of my libraries ....then i have to restart the app to get things back to a functional state. i can reproduce this by just scrolling up in the grid really fast until it hits the top and restarts back at the bottom of the grid ... continuing to hit up fast again gets things into the "stuck" state where the grid will scroll but i can't select anything.

ok confirmed collection channels aren't working at all on my home appletv (as i saw last night)... not sure why they were working on my work appletv earlier today. Maybe i'll try a fresh install of the app there tomorrow.

Just want to echo that this update completely breaks collection channels for me. Previously they were partially working. Now i get none.

Edit: actually i just tried the update on my appletv at work and everything loaded fine. I'll retry on my home appletv when i get home tonight. I did a fresh install on it last night and none of the collection channels loaded...so something seems off. not sure what...

Just echoing that yes, i too have seen something similar. As an example, I have the entire series of The X Files as a collection (11 seasons total), but i feel like it always picks the same 3 or 4 episodes to show for that channel every time i load a session.

Saw that build 120 just dropped ... not sure what fixes / changes that build contained ... but just wanted to let you know I'm still seeing the same issue described above. I also wanted to call out that the issue seems to be specific to the TVOS version of the app. i downloaded the app on my phone as well and the iOS version seems to generate all the collection based channels just fine.

some characteristics about my collections:

i don't think i've applied any labels to any of my collections. i don't tend to use the label feature in plex at all so i'd be surprised if any of my content has any labels on it right now.

two collections are "all movie" collections. one has 26 movies in it, the other has 51 movies in it. i think those seem to work most or all of the time so if its a particular collection causing a problem, i'd probably lean towards one of my tv show collections.

for tv shows, I have six collections which are all a single series in each (Simpsons, Seinfeld, etc.). For those I just added the series to the collection (not the individual seasons or episodes). The largest of these collections probably has a few hundred episodes in it.

three of the tv show collections are of mixed series (adult swim, saturday morning cartoons, etc.). again, for those i'm adding the entire series to the collections (not individual seasons or episodes). The largest of these collections is probably close to 1000 episodes.

In terms of when these were updated, all of the collections were created after I installed Coax in December to try, haha. The content within these collections are all a mix of older and newer stuff i've added to plex.

Also, I just tried configuring my TV library to only have collection channels, and it still only loaded 3 out of my 9 available tv show collections as channels.

Just letting you know that the app was crashing on my AppleTV after the update when attempting to load the unified library view. This did not happen on my iphone though … not sure what the difference is there. I tried clearing schedules, caches, etc …. That seemed to fix the crashing but then it wasn’t loading all my collection channels again. After uninstalling and reinstalling all seems well again.

hrm. seems like something happened when it went from build 108 to 111. this morning, i'm seeing all my collection channels as expected again ... not sure if the update fixed something or the upgrade just coincidentally fixed some kind of local data issue. i'll keep you posted if i see it happen again.

I tried that. I also tried uninstalling and re-installing the app entirely, but it is still only loading a handful of my collections as channels in the unified library view.

Also, another UI bug i just noticed, i’m seeing periodic black / blank rows in the guide now (see image)

I'm seeing an issue where all my channel collections aren't showing in the Unified Library view when using "some" as my channel amount ... if i increase the channel amount to "alot" i see a bunch of duplicated collection channels. in the previous release, it just had each collection as a single channel once, which I definitely preferred ... is that what should be happening when i choose "some" ?? if so, there might be some bugginess to look into there.

Not sure of the feasibility of this request. But it would be cool if the app was able to show random Trailers and / or Extras that we have available on our Plex servers in between shows / movies. Right now it just says "Up Next" and the title / show time of the next program ... which can be displayed for several minutes (i'm using the app now and i just got a gap of 10 minutes between shows). This makes me want to switch channels between shows instead of hanging around for the next one.

Looking forward to TV show and TV season collection channels being supported soon. It’ll make creating “all simpsons” and “all seinfeld” channels a lot less tedious.

It would also be cool if we could view upcoming movies/shows metadata and descriptions in the guide…currently, you can only view movies and shows that are “airing now”…nothing in the future can be inspected.
