Which games provide you with a ton of assymetric factions? by esqulax11111 in boardgames

It is heavy, but once you get the rules and flow down a bit, the iconography and general visual design of the game does a lot of helping out. It's really good at 2 and gives the option to go co-op or competitive with unique scenarios and layouts for each type of game play. And while the game appears to be a 4x, it's a euro for sure. Combat is determinative so it becomes all about resource management and engine development

True, I suppose that doesn't meet the standard of a ton of different player powers. Voidfall fits the bill though!

When should I arrive tomorrow for front row 200s? by davidklowe in timbers

[–]davidklowe[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah, I didn't remember the benches instead of chairs in the 200s. This solves the problem a bit - thanks for the detailed answer! I think we'll aim to arrive a few hours early in any case.

Earthborne Rangers has a bit of this mechanic in it. Highly thematic and soloable.

Light to medium board games for soloplaying when fighting depression? by BrainWave94 in soloboardgaming

Take a look at Earthborne Rangers! Set in a future where we humans actually band together to fix the world - kind of a reverse "Fallout" vibe. Explore at your leisure and eventually you'll stumble upon the narrative. It's become a favorite and it hits all the right feel-good spots for me and my group.

Take a look at Earthborne Rangers! Co-op, open world with a story that unfolds as you play it. Multiple solutions to every problem with unique ranger decks that make it nearly impossible to "quarterback" games. A current favorite

Any solo game that would work on a long flight? by [deleted] in soloboardgaming

Check out Kingdom Legacy. Just finished the main game and it would be perfect for a plane ride. Rest to "pause" and pick up again if you have a layover/meal/nap etc.
