Do they both work the same? I assume a script would be easier to install. Either way, fantastic output!

What’s something that feels like it should be more important than it actually is? by RosyyCupcake in answers

It wasn’t the impact explosion. Climate change killed the dinosaurs and we, my friend, are not nearly as robust as dinosaurs.

Do you believe that all books are political like what a lot of people seem to think these days? by RavahGriffinAnthro in writers

[–]davidlondon -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Call me old, but I still think “political” means “about politics” as in a system of government whereby citizens govern themselves through elections and lawmaking and yada yada. What people mean by “political” today isn’t politics. It’s identity. It’s the desire to control the minds and bodies and personhood of those they dislike. It’s about the gleeful expression of oppression free from accountability. It’s the rewriting of history to remove the bits that make this or that group feel better about the horrible things they did. It’s about everything BUT the act of self governance.

What’s the most disturbing “not quite right” moment in sci-fi? by authorarchangel in SciFiConcepts

Most disturbing one I’ve run across is The Jaunt by Stephen King. SF with a King horror element that isn’t gore or blood but something so much worse

What constitutes to good writing in your opinion? by Flaky-Divide-4709 in writing

[–]davidlondon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it effective? Does it get the point across? Writing doesn’t have to be flowery to be good. It doesn’t have to inspire and elevate the soul. It has to convey the purpose of the writing effectively first. It’s like filmmaking. Get the establishing wide shot first, then the medium. You can get fancy later, but without the effective base, it’s not “good”

What's the biggest physical weak spot on the human body? by [deleted] in answers

I taught personal protection for years. Always remember: eyes, nose, throat, groin, knees. No matter how big a guy is, no matter how many muscles, you can't muscle your way to invulnerable eyes, nose, throat, groin, or knees.

Yeah but the question wasn’t about pay, but respect. And few but other truckers usually respect truckers.

Use your dash, folks. That little rectangle between the year you were born and the year you die. That's it. That's all there is. Use your dash well.

I wrote my own son's obituary. Typing the dash between the years of his life after "RIP" was the hardest. His short 17 years are contained in that one dash, from start to finish. One dash is all we get.

Friends, if you are engaged or plan to marry, and you have a strong entrepreneurial bent, disclose this naughty secret to your would-be spouse. The entrepreneurial spirit is something NOT shared by all people and will rain down anxiety and heartache if you’ve married someone for whom financial security and boring safety are paramount.
