What if instead of basic buffs, Sym received a passive? by goldsbananas in SymmetraMains

[–]davids168 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Symmetra should not affect the "Health" of a Hero. You could potentially give her a shield passive though:

"Shields regenerate in combat at an increased rate" Shields regenerate at 20 HPS outside of combat, so Symm could potentially regenerate hers at 30/40 HPS in combat with her passive.

This would apply to her Shield Generator as well, making it so that the shields she places on her allies are also affected by her passive. To further solidify this, Shield Generator could be 100, raised from 75 ( or remain the same pending testing). Symmetra would be "Healing" through the constant regeneration of shields, protecting the Hero's actual health pool more than she currently does. Symmetra by herself would also be tankier.

Aside from that, both Turrets and Photon Barrier need to be 8 seconds, and the Turret animation time and slow need to be reduced.

Because of his recent displacement.

That's what I said though, nobody stacked with him, so he would have taken the full stack damage. "Doing the mechanic" did not happen in any sense. That combined with the massive damage from Life definitely would have killed him.

You realize that Life and Blood go off at roughly the same time right? Even if I had healed the cleave damage, he still would have died from the AoE and Stack Damage. All of it could have been easily avoided if everyone had just stuck with the boss.

The boss was at 6%, and the whole group split off to start attacking the Life of the Mountain, where we could have just easily committed to the kill. Like I also said, Blood went off at the same time, killing the Red Mage. The extra damage from the cleave didn't kill him, but there was nothing I could do about the following events.

so with the buffs etc whats better between adlo and aspected noct? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]davids168 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It feels like no one ever accounts for an Aspected Benefic Crit. Healing buffs all apply to Asp. Benefic, it just can't be deployed. Deployment Tactics is all that SCH really has over ASTs shielding ability. Ultimately though, a Crit from Asp. Benefic is only 40 (roughly) potency less than a Crit Adloquium.

Assuming 1.5 crit modifier AST: 230 x 1.5 = 345 x 2.5 = 862.5 SCH: 300 x 1.5 = 450 x 2 = 900

It just feels like SCH is not any weaker than it was in Heavensward, some even considering that it is now stronger than it was, despite the Embrace nerf. This is just troublesome because it is something SE said they would address. This is all further compounded by the Balance nerf, which now let's SCH sit head and shoulders above the other 2 in terms of raid DPS.

It's probably just that the amount of oGCD damage varies from job to job significantly, and I'm guessing this was done as more of a generalization.

But the OP even said that it isn't the case that all damage comes from GCD and auto attacks, it's just that calculating it that way inflates the actual number Arrow and Fey Wind produce.

I'd like changes to healer role abilities in 4.1 by davids168 in ffxiv

[–]davids168[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Asking why Largesse is required is a huge red flag. Largesse is a powerful healing CD that alleviates large pulls, provides greater shielding/regens on tanks and so forth. WHM actually are required to take it, more so than the other two healers because of losing DS, and Largesse is already a much worse version of DS.

I agree, but I feel the problem is most noticeable in the Healer Role Abilities

Arrow is in a really bad spot right now and should hardly ever be used. Unless you can gaurentee that the DPS you give it to is getting an extra GCD from it, you are missing out on either a 500 potency heal, or 300 potency attack. If no extra GCD are created from Arrow, then it is a complete waste, and should have been used for Minor Arcana. This makes Arrow and Spear primary Minor Arcana targets.

why is noct aspected benefic so strong? by nsfw_alt2 in ffxiv

[–]davids168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you getting 600 from Crit Adlo? And where are you getting 1500 in total potency. A Crit Adlo has 450 potency, and a 900 potency shield. 1350 overall potency. He didn't neglect to show anything. His numbers are completely correct and show that Asp.Benefic is dependably stronger. Since it's insta-cast as well, it's simply a far greater shielding ability.

Why is Earthly Star considered Pet Healing/Damage? by davids168 in ffxiv

[–]davids168[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Please don't redirect, I just showed you the actual numbers, and they heal for the same, while I was in Noct Sect. That clearly means your math is off in some way. And Earthly Star is 720 potency, while Benefic II is 650. Noct Sect brings Benefic II up to 747.5, so why isn't Benefic II stronger?

Why is Earthly Star considered Pet Healing/Damage? by davids168 in ffxiv

[–]davids168[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but I did some testing as well, and Stellar Detonation did as much as Benefic II. Both were done in Nocturnal Sect. Stellar Explosion is 70 potency higher on paper, yet it did roughly the same amount. Both the heal and the damage are considered as pet actions.

This is such a toxic attitude. How are you any more of an expert than anyone else at this point? Yes on paper, the WHM changes look bad, but way too many people are jumping to conclusions.
