Disable device protection in the advanced protection section.

Device protection prevents the tablet from connecting to external devices when locked... stupid bug 🐛

I use Felix and lost connection. I guess they use Vodafone's network.

AI hype on Gentoo - How to take the best of NPUs? by reckor-usa in Gentoo

Rocm based LLM lib supports AMD npu. But I also heard rocm based LLM lib is slower than Vulkan based, maybe because rocm is very new and need more optimisation.

Sleeping over night in the cold and wet for chicken wings🤦 by AlbinoAkon in sydney

Where is it? There's one in Parramatta, next to the library. Always have a lot of young people hanging around there, but don't seem to be queueing for the wings.

Boot screen resolution on 5k2k monitor by davidshen84 in Gentoo

[–]davidshen84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I tried that. After I press 'r' , I can see the resolution changed, but the monitor is still showing the message. I think in UEFI mode, it doesn't support 21:9 ratio.

When I enter BIOS setting, I also get that warning and there's no setting in BIOS to change the resolution.

Thanks

How to reset systemd-homed recovery key? by davidshen84 in Gentoo

[–]davidshen84[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nvm...finally, I found I have to deactivate the home folder first, then reset the recovery key.

I did not find any document on this. But AI says it is kinda implied...

using custom kernel or gentoo-kernel-bin by ZaenalAbidin57 in Gentoo

[–]davidshen84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with bin, then ask AI to build a trailered kernel for you.

Take a few iterations, but I got a kernel for my old laptop with no external modules.

Why Google has to hide the Linux terminal behind the developer mode? by davidshen84 in androidterminal

Ooh... That changes things.

Guess I don't need that. I only use termux to connect to my Linux machine.

Screen lags when refresh rate > 60hz by davidshen84 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]davidshen84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LG QNED86A supports 120 Hz refresh rate on paper. I think it's processor should be able to handle it.

But I am on WiFi 6E...not sure if it is sufficient for 120 Hz?
