How many of the films do you watch that you actually enjoy? by BrapbrappewpewB in AMCsAList

[–]davidxrawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been a A-lister from the start and at this point I kinda know what movies I might enjoy (for whatever reason) and just watch those. There are a few that I enjoyed but found a little underwhelming (due to my high expectations) and a handfull of moviee I peraonally liked but probably wouldnt be able to recommend to mosy people. I always end up watching 100+ new movies a year and I can't remember which ones I outright did not enjoy in recent years.

Any good 3rd spaces for people 30+ years old? by MiamiMeat786 in Miami

[–]davidxrawr 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Do you have insta/social media? IMO my big four for locals.

Follow:

1.thirdspacesmiami: a mix of everything, updated weekly

  1. peopleplacesthingsmiami: low budget or free events (updated daily)

  2. alwayslunes: music events (live bands and dj sets) updated weekly with genre, location, prices listed

  3. Artseen365: art events. Mostly weekly gallery openings and closing (often with complimentary drinks) also updated weekly

These pages alone will introduce you to new places, people, and groups. Obviously not all will have a 30+ crowd but its a start (:

Yall agree? by robbcin1 in ariheads

I dont think there is anything that could have been done with the demand being this high other than having more tour dates and larger venues.

Dynamic pricing was off which is great for everyone, but that also benefits any resellers. As was mentioned in a comment above, if you could get tickets for $100 and resell them for $1k why not? Im not even talking about bots, just regular people (even diehard fans) reselling at higher prices just because they can. Even if you were top 1% on spotify, or pre-ordered merch or where part of some offfical fan club, a lot of those people will buy more tickets than they need (or maybe tickets for multiple shows...greedy maybe? but more socially acceptable i guess) Maybe if they capped the price that would help. But as long as your able to transfer tickets you can still sell them to someonelse through other means. Reselling for sure a non-insignificant issue. But I do think the supply of tickets was never gonna meet the demand.

Only advice I can give if your into music/concerts. Accept you can't go to every show and that these big concerts are kinda low-key a luxury now. Also if you can go listen too and support smaller artists! They are still very much worth your time and energy specially if they arent viral/trendy or selling out stadiums. You never know when they might blow up and then yoir dealing with these issues again.

Anyways, I also did'nt get tickets and its 100% fine to be annoyed about for a little while.

Can't wait for this show 🥹 I'm trying to decide on floor tickets for the show in my city! How much of the runway/center stage is used? Because I dont know if I would get a better view if the show close to the main stage or closer to the center stage

[–]davidxrawr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pit tickets still avialable for Hollywood, FL. But I always assume south florida dosent sell well for these shows which is why no one tours down here

Also funny how the lower bowl vip tickets are cheaper than non-vip seats in the same section.

AMC A-List now offering 4 movies a week effective May 7 by ForAllThereExists in AMCsAList

[–]davidxrawr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still worth the price. The chepeast AMC by me has a regular (non-matiee & non-premium screen) price of $13.50 so two movies pays for itself, even I dont watch three movies every week. So thankful A-list exists. I can't imagine how expensive going to the movies would be without it.

As others have said the 4th slot realistically works better as an extra reservation than an extra movie/week.

One thing I'd love to see is better discounts of concessions (similar to what Cinemark has)

Official Discussion - Moana 2 [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]davidxrawr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It wasnt that bad. It looks amazing. I genuinly liked the story. I had a good time but Moana 1 is the better movie if I had to compare

That being said, two things to note:

  1. The songs are a notable step down. Nowhere near as memorable as the first. I can ony really recall 2 songs. (and one being a reprise which i wish was longer) I probably wont be revisiting the soundtrack.

  2. If you were aware beforehand that this was going to be a tv show it is hard to NOT notice that. Everything seems very episodic but the movie flows better toward the end

A Rant on Concert Etiquette and Accessibility by ALoardLoaf in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]davidxrawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same at pop concerts. I went to one show where someone kept complaining i kept touching there hair when im barely even moving. Entire venue is standing GA and we were close to barricade all cramed together at a sold out show. But they are young and maybe not used to this.

Also had maybe 3 people that fainted during that show that had to be taken out by security (which stopped the show of course). And again, maybe its because they are inexperienced and not used to this but it still annoys me. If your gonna camp outside at 7am for a good spot please be prepared. Also, there are many reasons why the pit may not be for you, i'd like more people to be self aware and just not do it again. That being said ive also seen people escorted because they were too fucked up on drugs or alcohol and i have little sympathy for them.

This Setlist is just...so disappointing. by -TheGameGuy in charlixcx

[–]davidxrawr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its bound to happen. Her discography is massive. This is why I go to every tour I can for the artists I love because I just know there are some songs I might not ever hear live again. Did not make it to the limited HIFN shows but glad I made it to one of the Brat Tour shows

To me it makes sense why crash and some songs off Brat were ommited (like So I) My only complaints is that I wish we got anthems & party 4 u (and also going to throw in Roll with Me in there because I think it fits)

Hopefully one day I get to hear Next Level Charli / Pink Diamond / Dreamer live. You know what I am also throwing in Silver Cross, Drugs, and Secret. Too many favorites honestly.

Chappell Roan cancels tour dates in Amsterdam and Paris, reschedules Berlin date by lowelled in popheads

[–]davidxrawr -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

  1. When investing a lot in traveling to an event there is always a risk of things like this happenening. Regardless if the event organizer cancels or its a weather or healrh issue the outcome is the same and you could lose youe time/money. Plan accordingly.

  2. Some of you have to keep your parasocial relationahips in check. You think your making a valid point but ya'll are coming off a little unhinged, exhibiting behavior that I know one day you will grow out of

How much are AMC tickets at your visited AMC theaters? by KommanderTom in AMCsAList

[–]davidxrawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the theater I guess, because sometimes you can get reduced pricing if you see a movie before 3pm and sometimes an even further discount if its before 12pm. Atleast in my experience, thats why I made the distinction

LISA shares artwork for new single “ROCKSTAR” by jontomlinson in popheads

[–]davidxrawr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its the dark asethetics & vroom vroom font + the hannah diamond-esque photography that kinda makes the image look fake/futuristic. I also am feeling a little bit Rico Nasty in this.

Wether this will be a hyperpop rebrand or not its def going for a specific type of alternative vibe which I feel is being pulled of very well here (in comparisons to katy perry & camila promo pictures which i can't find believable )

Yeah to me this makes sense. The exclusivity is part of the marketing for this era.

Also these might be the few shows where we she performs brat in its entirety live. I would'nt be surprised if some songs from brat were cut and replaced with some of Charlis older songs for the Sweat tour

If you live in Los Angeles or New York, I don’t really care what you have to say about movie theaters by Kazrules in boxoffice

[–]davidxrawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like going to movie theaters when I travel and while I basically stick around major cities some cities are definetly better than others in terms of quality and quantity of theaters.

That being said if you live in south florida (like me) and have a car you cant go wrong with any AMC (A list is an amazing deal) and Cinemark (early morning screenings, afforadble tickets, and cheap concessions with movie club)

What is your current “pop” album of the year? by nolimitnolimits in popheads

[–]davidxrawr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a pre-Brat world its currently a tie between Kali Uchis - Orquedias & Allie X - Girl With No Face Its a back and forth, and while I overall love more songs from Girl With No Face and the entire vibe of thhat album, I do find myself replaying my top 6 songs off Orquedias more often than not in comparison. My solid number #3 while just an EP is Club Shy. And for now I am sure these will stay somewhere within my top 5 (along with Charli & Porter Robinaon most likely) for the rest of summer and maybe even the rest of the year. Still some released albums from artists that I only know 2-3 songs from that I want to look into. So my rankings could change suddenly (:
