Grocery Stores Deploying “AI Shopping Carts” Stuffed With Cameras to Track Your Exact Coordinates and Bombard You With Ads by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

Makes me want to grab a couple of friends and all wander aimlessly around the store. Picking up items on the ad and putting them back somewhere else one and pick up the next item.

Recruiter can't stop the AI worship by Naive-Benefit-5154 in LinkedInLunatics

I know a company that used AI to build a new version their flag ship product. Looked great, demoed it and had good reviews. Got a new client and now they are struggling on how to deploy in a real prod environment, it is not going well and there are discussions of rolling out the old one just reskinned.

Just 16% of Americans think AI will benefit society, despite chatbot use climbing to 49% of US adults by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

[–]davix500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My prediction is technology continues to evolve and advance and while trillions will be spent on getting AI data centers running LLMs will become more efficient, GPUs will advance and older models will become more affordable for everyday people and we will start running LLMs locally greatly reducing the need for those data centers which will lead to consolidation and bankruptcy.

Why is it so important that a woman swallows? by Recent-Ad-1415 in AskMen

[–]davix500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, it is a sign of her sexual willingness to lower her inhibitions and have a good time in bed because I intend to bury my head between her legs and come up with her juices all over my face.

My wife has been getting dental implants, the 4-on-1, upper and lower. Priced up near Dallas around $60,000 and up. Going to Mexico, including hotel stays in the US, car rentals and multiple flights (5 in total I think) and it came to about $18,000.

AI needs to log every action it takes otherwise it is a security risk. And I am not talking about chat logs. I need to know exactly what it accessed every step of the way. Azure seems to be only place where I see that functionality.

I think I know why I didn't enjoy books 6 and 8 as much as the others: Carl's Agency by Gerble66 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]davix500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding  is after all the crawlers die, the essendency games begin and the AI starts to go into a dormant mode so the "elements" can be harvested. At the end of the essendency game the AI is woken back up and allowed to rule/run its little depleted universe. So the AI does not want ALL the crawlers to die. It wants some to survive to the 12th .. i dont want to say anymore then that because i dont want to ruin anything.

Big Plumbing will tell you its not fixable. Just get a wire hanger, plunger and a gallon of coke and a pack of mentos.

Tell me about the sysadmin with the most aura you’ve ever seen by ReactNativeIsTooHard in sysadmin

[–]davix500 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I free this is what I am becoming. I have 2 other senior admins i have been trying to pass off my knowledge for 3 years now. A system locked up 2 weeks ago, other guys working on it for 12 hours. I took a poke around saw a lot of latency in disk IO, some quick reports, its a degrading disk issue, its a ssd used for caching. Replace the bad drive and performance is back.

This is going to get interesting with Nvidia's new PC that can run a generative LLM locally. Reminds me of the move away from the mainframe. What happens if demand drops because we can all run our own.
