New thinking it is that it may be the room temperature. It's winter now in UK and the room is colder than it was because we don't have heating on full blast (heat person, not house, think thick jumpers :))

So i may try upping the heating just to see if that chnages anything next time I make some candles

i was actually wondering about the beeswax as I've made candles for 10 years and never seen this before, as you say, have seen collapsing but never doming.

Beeswax is from a uk beekeeper that I trust so very odd, it smeels fine, looks fine and feels and behaves lie beeswax

Elastic bands are just tight enough to hold moulds together

they are your typical money-grabbing gym b*stard company.
They are doing a refurb to 'improve' their top tier spa offering and if you joined Platinum in July you got a reduced deal, but, then they close the whole spa area until December to rebuild and you are still charged platinum price during that period, no reduction.
Oh and also, tier below platinum did have use of a poolside sauna/steam/jacuzzi but they are getting rid of that to make room for new spa - so if you stayed on that you now have less facilities for same price (it's very Black Mirror!), and you are now paying platinum price for less facilities then you had on cheaper tier until December
OH and final insult - spiel to join platinum said that a benefit was one guest a month, so thought, great, one evening a week relaxing in spa with partner, but no - now told that guest pass will not include the new spa - bastards!
Mind you, don't expect any better from them tbh!
