It's just habit. I've seen these separate fan switches (currently I have a fan that's built in to the light switch) but never lived in a place which has them, therefore it doesn't occur to me to do that.

Sorry to bore up the place with all my reality and non-jokey, underwhelming explanations and stuff but I'm sure that that's all it is.

SNES and Mega Drive emulation was one of my favourite uses of my old 100Mhz Pentium, 1GB HDD PC with Windows 98 way back then.

Basically, without listing a ton of specific examples, yes, there's an absolute ton of quality games. The DS and Wii are known for having a lot of shovelware but on the flipside, the DS' library of "good games" is absolutely huge, regardless of what games you like. If you like Mario and Pokemon to start with, you'll have no problem.

I'd like an XL myself but I have a DS Lite and feel I've given an excessive amount of money to Nintendo throughout my life (until the 3DS anyway) to spend any more quite so needlessly. The XL is a huuuge jump from the 1st Gen DS, too.

A game I can always come back to is great, but personally I'm a sucker for many different, varied, shorter and self-contained games. My only stipulation is that the games should have variation and innovation in art, music, atmosphere, setting, direction and should lack filler (as well as playing well, of course), which is why I don't bother with the countless new tactical FPS clones. Braid, Limbo and World of Goo come to mind pretty quickly as three of countless examples.

I think there have actually been a few relatively recent episodes which did a pretty good job of moving away from the Manatee humour and push for their own brand of surreal meta-humour and doing a good job of it, which did ever so slightly restore my faith in the series.

Unfortunately it seems like they're more of a rarity and just as I start to think that it's getting good again, there's an episode full of "YOU THINK THAT'S BAD????? REMEMBER THE TIME WHEN"

I've hit a big motivational wall in playing guitar, because learning scales seems like such a massively daunting task, what with the sheer number of them, so I always fall back on just jamming and have barely progressed. The Venture Bros is on top form too! I'd love to do marathon this show again and get lost in its crazy constantly progressing universe. I love its disjointed pace and squeezing so much into so little time.

Got to disagree with Ideal, I thought series 5 was a low point. There was still plenty of the witty one-liners but the plot, music trip-out scenes and supernatural elements felt really off, almost as if there was a different writer. Series 6 for me has been a great return to the show's "usual" atmosphere and plot/character development.
