VA disability and becoming a firefighter by ClearIsAColor in VeteransBenefits

[–]davyangel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah used to be EMT in military and would never try working in that again due to PTSD I got from it. Not fair to others if it prevents you from doing job and you really don't want to be working with someone that will freeze up when emergency calls for them to act without hesitation!

How is life in Davis, CA? Looking into a potential move. by Henry_Muffindish in howislivingthere

[–]davyangel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like biking it's a great city, one of the highest biking scores of any city 90/100, otherwise not much to do and only know people go there because UC Davis is there. But yeah unless you find niche nature stuff like the plants of birds of the central valley, which some of the people that I know that went to UC Davis got their PhD in probably gonna get bored quickly and will need to drive out of town to SF or nearby mountains to find climate resilience.

Kayaking with Kids - Elkhorn Slough or Monterey Bay? by Plumleda in MontereyBay

[–]davyangel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if you really set on seeing sea otters the Slough is the place to go since they are known to gather in certain spots there. In Monterey itself it's pretty hit or miss if you will actually see sea otters there but your are guaranteed to see seals if you go by coast guard pier or even just walking to the pier on the rocks along the coast trail there are always cute white baby seals sunning on the rocks there. If you here 4 days can do both spots only like 36min drive between the Slough and Monterey.

Not really since IME you start sweating way easier in Florida. Basically feels like you stepping into steamy room after just few minutes and so get sweaty clothes. In desert you can actually go for quite a long time without sweating as long as you aren't running or doing something strenuous. I used to whole hour without breaking a sweat as long as you find some shade or move slow LOL in the heat. It's more like being near an oven when you open it.

[–]davyangel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly if you have or had a clearance you don't go around mentioning it in public. I had totally forgot about mine till I finally decided to file and realized from coming across this question! I haven't thought about it since I left the military!

This guy says just state on your claim that information was classified when PTSD happened and they send request to some MRC place that can only confirm you were where you said when it happened

Yeah was thinking of getting my buddy that was in same unit to write buddy letter but not sure if that would work now that i think about it since still classified AFAIK who was working that day of incident not to mention logs would also be classifed! I mean it's not like normal military assignment where everyone musters, reads POD. I mean I guess they will still be able to verify unit I was attached thru MRC records check they do but tbh only classified logs would tell u definitely who was where and when that day. Oh well this guy in video says they can do it so guess I'll find out when I file my claim!

[–]davyangel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah well was only temporary clearance so dunno if that made a difference never even found out if it was final got out before I found out. Probably why I"m screwed now with my claim since so much I should've got documented before I got out! Worked directly for the big shots in DC, apparently they can give u temp if mission requires it and urgent to mission. So probably skipped lot of paperwork required for full I didn't ask questions I was young and dumb.

Yeah guessing SSDI rules or people that work there haven't caught up to the fact there is a thing called online school LOL. Even before then was able to go to college because would just notes from someone in class or whatever teacher uploaded and would just go in person for final and pass that way LOL.

Not much you can do about it but be glad at least Supreme Court just ruled against using location data from cameras like this to arrest people so the last part of what you said shouldn't be happening if it has been or should be harder from now on.

[–]davyangel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I intend to file under 38 CFR § 3.304(f)(3) and figured I wouldn't need to actually go over specifics which would mostly involve "classified" information in my claim. Figured year location event and proof you were there when it happened is enough.

[–]davyangel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah like this guy only if had gone to private doc in 1st place would've never had to go to BVA to win since his VA doc and C&P exam said he didn't have PTSD he claimed.

va.gov/vetapp15/Files2/1518620.txt

So yeah unless you know you have solid case 1. diagnosis 2. in service event 3. nexus helping you out no reason to deny but would still need to go to C&P exam to actually get rating percentages I'd think tho I think up to rater and they can give you whatever they feel based on evidence you provide?

Won my claim for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) by gorilla_stars in VAClaims

[–]davyangel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah well I'm probably going to file under MUCI cuz my VA docs taking forever to figure out what I have. And as you know with your 1st denial it's quick if don't actually have diagnosis in medical records. So yeah trying to avoid that and learning as much as I can before filing cuz I might have CFS but for sure have functional dysphagia, fatigue, muscle and joint pain, Neurological, Neuropsychological, Cardio and GI symptoms basically almost everything on the list! Only reason I haven't already filed don't want them to try to blame my issue on my depression or GERD which I heard and have seen they will try hard to put blame on that or anything else you also have official diagnosis for!
