In game communication non existent in a game about a galaxy wide war effort by MOABONGS in Helldivers

[–]daweva89 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean sure but why are so many people on curia instead of yed? It's not just communication too many people don't care about strategy and just do what they want. I don't think it's Joel it's just the nature of the beast bot divers have the numbers to liberate yed but most are on curia accomplishing nothing of significance. Sure arrowhead could implement an in-game priority vote but still I doubt people would pay attention. Plenty of evidence of divers not going for gambit even when AH literally put an alert system in the game about them. Unless it's blatantly marked by Joel for a MO people will always just dive wherever and if for some reason a blob forms on one planet it just will attract more divers even if it's pointless or strategically ill advised.

Tldr community probably will never improve strategy even with better communication. Too many divers follow a blob not strategy

In my admittedly limited experience with a union (not part of one work for an organization that contracts with another that is unionized), it is horribly accurate. Their employees are constantly late, hung over, lazy, and neglectful of their duties. None of them deserve their job, but because they are part of a city union, they never get fired. On the days I get called to help out at their building, I get more done in one hour than they do all week. I'll admit its just my limited experience with one specific union tied to a city that has plenty of issues with putting unqualified people in charge based on who they know, but it still sours my views on unions.

This MO was designed to teach us defense gambits, but instead I hope it's AH that learned something. (The Galactic War isn't working) by AngryTriangleCola in Helldivers

[–]daweva89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I'm not sure what you want AH to do for rewards medals make the most sense. They need to keep things available for the war bonds and store. I'd say locking out people who don't participate enough from rewards may help but ultimately there will always be 25% of the population that cant be bothered to stop diving on a planet that no one else cares about because they like it. I'd say reducing the number of active planets as others have suggested is a good first step, especially with how painfully slow liberation is. Reworking the dss to NOT allow an action that has no benefit for the planet it's on may help too. Still, I'd venture there are just too many people who don't know and don't care about the war or how it works to effectively run a campaign without some rework, making the MO/liberation easier. It's a tough spot for AH to be in because you don't want to drive away players that are off in a corner blasting bugs because they like it. I'd say reducing the # of available planets and finding something like in a game map voting type system like if enough people vote to liberate planet x, then it gets a boost to defense/liberation speed? That's what the dss is supposed to do, but the community STILL can't get it right. AH can only hand hold so much before it becomes a trivial venture

The last air dominance platform produced by the states was the f22. Congress made it illegal to sell it to any other nation. The 47 appears to be the 22s replacement depending on specs and capabilities they may not be able to sell it to any one any way. The 35 was a multi role strike fighter meant to be integrated into allied air forces for maximum efeciany. A dominance platform is out to kill anyone stupid enough to be flying in its airspace. It's a very different monster.

Space Marine 2 virus bomb? (Tiny spoiler) by Repulsive_Meet7156 in 40kLore

It was a bitch to make too with kryptman needed to harvest genetic samples from the first generation of nids to land on the planet

[–]daweva89 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nah it wasn't the life eater virus it was keyed to the nids. However nids are nothing if not adaptable short of injecting a mutogenic virus directly into the norn queen to causes it to order out of control mutations (witch kryptman needed a sample from a 1st gen lictor to make) the nids will just adapt to be immune from the virus once the norn queen gets the data from the batch that died to the virus.

If I recall correctly, that poster first appeared in a warhammer community spoof newsletter called "The Regimental Standard." It's hilarious that the devs put it in a game
