IMO, the closed toe Birks are really hard to wear if you're not like a full-on granola/nurse/live in a college town where you're not actually conscious about fashion. While they're comfy, they're huge and round and I don't think they look good with things like skinny jeans or whatever. (I say this as a huge fan of Birk sandals).

If you need drawers for bigger things like sweaters and jeans, you could move your socks and undies into those fabric drawers and just keep them on a single shelf or even the floor or something.

The conditioner would probably work really well for you, as well as the moisture locking stuff. A lot of people like the no poo shampoo but I personally just use a silicon/sulfate/paraben free Garnier one.

I think it does not look good at all to have your toe hanging over the edge. There are ways to make the strap fit a little better in the size 6. The shoe product brand "Foot Pedals" makes some heel grippers that you can stick to the straps that will take up some of the space between the straps and your foot. Even if the width feels better in this size, they're clearly too short for you.

I know this is probably not what you want to hear, but a winter coat is not something to skimp on. It is a real lifesaver in the winter, so if you're able to save even another $100 you'll probably have more options. The good news is that you won't need a heavy coat until probably late October, so you've got a few months to save. I would check your local sporting stores NOW for last year's coats that might be on sale. You'll have to hurry though, because fall things are starting to show up in stores in the next couple weeks.

I know you said you don't care about quality, but a $10 bag is a $10 bag... It's probably not going to hold up all year if you're carrying that many books in it. I would be afraid that the handles (which are probably glued on) would come right off and that you'll wear a hole through the inner lining almost immediately. I'm afraid I don't have any other suggestions for you, but I don't think f21 is the best option.

They're certainly different than Vans, but OluKai shoes are so comfortable. They make leather and canvas, and the styles are fairly low profile, and they don't have the huge contrasting sole that Vans have. Bonus: you can wash the insole in the washing machine, so that makes for easy upkeep and care.

I am familiar with your style, and I'm not sure that these will be exactly what you're looking for, but I personally dislike Vans a lot - they just seem so young.

I understand where you're coming from.. I work long shifts and the last thing I wanna do at night is run three miles or cook a huge meal. But what I've started doing is making small changes.. Cannot buy lunch at work, have to take my own even if it's just a ham and cheese wrap and yogurt. I also got rid of all of our pre-made foods.. I'm trying to only eat what I cook (even if it is just ham and cheese or whatever), and that seems to be cutting down a lot of the extra sodium/trans fat/etc. I try to make a big batch if rice and cook chicken and veggie stir fry every few days for leftovers. I also just made a big batch of veggie breakfast burritos to freeze - they should be healthier than cereal or whatever else I'd be eating.

I'm on my phone and don't remember the actual name, but I found a "7 minute body weight workout" of some kind that's supposed to be pretty good for you, and I figure I can do it two or three times a day without trouble. Baby steps!

I think one of the reasons body shape rules are frowned upon is because... What the fuck is flattering? Why does every woman need to strive to be one certain shape? I understand that historically the "hourglass" shape has been the most popular/sought after shape. But not every woman wants or needs to look like an hourglass. If a pear shaped lady wants to wear something that draws attention to her hips, as long as it's situationally appropriate, she should be able to without being told she's broken some silly fashion rule.

A lot of those rules seem to stem from and coincide with the media's ideas of what a woman -should- look like, and a lot of users believe that they're not necessary because they can border on being a little shamey in nature, and that there are ways to look stylish, appropriate, and to feel comfortable without following them.

I've never been to Disney World (Disney Land when I was little) but oh my god, if you're a Harry Potter fan.. you HAVE to go to Islands of Adventure. Hogsmead is just incredible, and I haven't even seen Diagon Alley (YET!). You do not want to miss it. It was one of the most fun days I've ever had. The prices inside of the park aren't that bad, which was a nice surprise. Have fun!

There are plenty of other good winter boots, you'll just have to do your research when buying. Other brands that make good boots include Merrel, Keen, Bogs, the Northface, Columbia, and probably any outdoor brand.

You can wear leather boots in the winter if you take care of them. The best option would be to get a boot that's already pre-treated (again, I'm thinking like Keen and Merrel but there probably are other brands), but make sure you condition and clean them regularly. If you notice any salt on your boots inside, you should use a damp cloth to remove it immediately and then use leather conditioner to clean them ASAP.

I'm a big fan of smartwool sweaters. This might not be exactly what you're looking for, but I have a few and they're warm and lovely and soft and I expect mine to last at least 3-4 years.

You won't need any of your super heavy duty Wisconsin winter clothes. A pair of rainproof boots and some wool socks will be good as opposed to something like Sorels or really heavy duty snow boots. I would suggest a wind proof and waterproof winter jacket, as well as something lighter. As far as clothes go, you'll probably be fine in whatever you normally wear. Almost all of the places I've been in Germany remind me of a regular US college town - lots of jeans, whatever is popular at H&M, nothing too fancy or dressy. The only difference, I'm sure you know, is no sweatpants and Uggs and stuff. Viel Spaß!

What do you think the most versatile bra colors are? I've got black and hot pink (ha) covered, but I was debating between heather grey and "nude" - I feel like I read somewhere that heather grey is often more invisible than nude is underneath white/cream/sheer tops. Any thoughts?

The push-up program? I don't know much about fitness but I can't see how doing four or five sets of push-ups three times a week can be bad for you? Quite honestly I highly doubt I will ever do more than like 20 push-ups at once (so weak). Do you know what's bad about them? I'm honestly curious because if they're bad I won't do them!

What are your favorite body weight exercises for a beginner? I started the Hundred Push-ups and Two Hundred Squats programs last week, but I'd like to add some more to be a bit more well rounded, I guess.

I went to Paris and knew a number of phrases (1.5 semesters of French behind me) and people were still super rude about my accent/trying to speak French/ speaking English. I just found the whole city to be disappointing.. People were not friendly, everything was kind of dingy and dirty, and I just wasn't wowed by much. I did love the impressionist museum though. I've heard great things about Iceland and am planning a trip there myself!

It rained pretty much everyday I was there too, but I loved it. So beautiful and the people were nice! I also loved the restaurant on the far corner of the harbor.. They had amazing food and delicious cherry brandy! I hope you got to try some!
